Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours on Tuesday, August 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals, 262 Beach St., Revere for Robert E. “Bob†Shiner, Sr. who died in the love and presence of his wife at home in Revere following a long illness. He was 92-years-old. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m., followed by interment with Military Honors in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
Bob was born in Malden on June 14, 1931, to his late parents, Charles R., Sr. and Viola C. (Alquist) Shiner. He was one of six children. He was raised and educated in Winthrop and was a graduate of Winthrop High School, Class of 1949. Bob enlisted in the United States Airforce on April 4, 1951 during the Korean War. He proudly and bravely served his country and was honorably discharged on April 4, 1955 as a Sergeant.
On January 13, 1968, Bob married his wife, Hazel U. (Bolino) and together they moved to Revere, where they remained. During this time, Bob earned his Draftman Certificate and worked at E.G. & G Architectural Firm in Salem for over 30 years before retiring as a supervisor.
Bob was always happiest spending his spare time on his boats. He was a longtime member of the Winthrop Yacht Club in Winthrop. He was a Past Commadore and one of the oldest ever to serve. Bob was also an active member at the Winthrop Lodge of Elks #1078 and the American Legion Post in Winthrop. He was a proud veteran, and a deep lover of the ocean, being on the water was where he always loved to be.
The beloved husband of 55 years to Hazel U. Shiner of Revere, he was the cherished father of Robert E. Shiner, Jr. of California and the proud grandfather of three grandchildren and six great grandchildren; dear brother of Ruth Asquith of Winthrop, June Francis of California and the late Jean Raymond, Jennie Hess and Charles R. Shiner, Jr. He is also lovingly survived by John Poto and his wife, Linda of Maine and by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Richard Sek
Retired Accountant
Richard M. Sek, 78, of Revere, died Friday, July 28 at the Leonard Florence Center for Living in Chelsea after a brief illness. He was the longtime partner of Carol Steriti. Born in Germany and raised in Lynn, the son of the late Boleslaw and Jadwiga (Karwoska) Sek, he was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and received his Accounting Degree from Bentley University. He also lived in Peabody before moving to Revere over 30 years ago.
Richard served in the United States Army. He had worked as an accountant for Leonard Silver and Belle Steele in East Boston until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, boating and gardening. He was a “Mr. Fix-It†and loved working with his hands.
In addition to his loving partner, Carol, he is survived by his two children, Dave Sek of Andover and Michelle Vail and her husband, Mark of Marblehead; their mother, Barbara (Nako) Sek of Peabody; his grandchildren, Charlotte and Eve Vail of Marblehead; his sister, Lillian Denis and her husband, George of Wakefield; as well as a niece, Mikaela Denis and several nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was the brother of the late William Sek of Lynn.
His memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 5 at 11 a.m. in the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt 129), Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Marie DiCologero
Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother
Marie DiCologero, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on July 26 in Saugus at the age of 98. She was born on August 4, 1924 in Boston to the late Nicholas and Raffealla Marino.
Marie was a devoted mother to her daughters, Roseann M. Perham and her husband, Arthur E. Perham Sr. and Debra DiCologero, all of Saugus. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Arthur E. Perham Jr. and his wife, Julie of Weymouth and Valerie A. Perham. Marie was a loving great-grandmother to Anna E. Perham and Aiden A. Perham who brought immense joy to her life. She was the dear sister-in-law of Antoinette Cardarelli of and Micheal DiCologero and his wife, Deloris, all of Revere. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Philip DiCologero.
A visitation will be held at the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St, Revere, today, Wednesday, August 2 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Following the visitation, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Saugus. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Marie DiCologero will be remembered for her unwavering love and dedication to her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, July 29 in the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals, for Daniel D. DiBartolomeo who passed away unexpectedly on July 24 at 63-years-old.
Born in Chelsea, he was raised in Revere, educated in Revere Schools and graduated from Revere High School. He joined the Carpenters Union and worked as a union carpenter for almost all of his working career. He enjoyed being a father and took part in many of his children’s activities while they were growing up.
Daniel was talented in fixing things and working with his hands. He relocated to Saugus for several years before moving to Malden a few years ago.
The beloved husband of Jill (Cipperly) DiBartolomeo of Malden and the devote father of Shannon DiBartolomeo of Malden, Danielle DiBartolomeo and her fiancé, Aaron Green of Boston, Kaitlyn DiBartolomeo of Melrose, Alexandra Cipperly of Revere and the late Shawn D. DiBartolomeo and Kristen DiBartolomeo, he was the cherished grandfather of Joseph, Isabella, Shawn and Gianna; loving son of Anthony A. DiBartolomeo and the late Millicent “Millie†DiBartolomeo and dear brother of Thomas P. DiBartolomeo and his wife, Laurie of Winthrop, Pastor Darren J. DiBartolomeo and his wife, Rosemary “Cookie†of Lynnfield and Andrew J. DiBartolomeo and his wife, Crystal of Boxford. ​

Retired Owner of Jeanette’s Catering of Everett
Jeannette (Rizzo) Trionfi of Revere passed away on July 27 at the age of 81.
Born in Boston on June 9, 1942 to the late Joseph Rizzo and Rose (Santoro), she was the beloved wife of 34 years to the late Lorenzo Trionfi; devoted mother of Roseann Trionfi-Mazzuchelli and her husband, David of Winthrop, Lawrence Trionfi and his wife, Robin of Reading, Maria Robinson and her husband, Ed, Angela Trionfi and her husband, Prem Lutchman and Gina Trionfi, all of Revere; dear sister of the late Rita Misuraca, Paul Rizzo, and JoJo Rizzo and adored grandmother of Joseph Mazzuchelli and his wife, Renee and Lauren Marie, Frank and Pauly Mazzuchelli, Samantha and Katelyn Trionfi, Stephanie and Jenn Robinson and Christopher Lutchman. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Jeannette was the beloved God-Mother of Rosalie Eliseo and niece of family matriarch, Alice Santoro.
She retired as the owner of Jeannette’s Catering of Everett for almost 25 years. Jeannette will be truly missed by all who knew her.
