Joseph DeSantis

Led the Revere/Everett/Malden Youth Hockey Program for 27 Years

Our beloved father, Joseph A. DeSantis, 67, of Revere, passed away peacefully in his home on June 2 surrounded by family and friends.

Joe dedicated 27 years of his life to leading the Revere/Everett/Malden Youth Hockey program, where he would help form the bonds between countless boys and girls. Many of those players are now giving back to the city of Revere, serving on the Revere Fire and Police Department.

Joe also spent 40 years in office supply sales, where during the majority of those years, he would accomplish being #1 in the country for his international company Kyocera Document Solutions/ Duplitron.

Joe lived his life in kindness and service to every person he encountered and will be missed immensely.

Born in Boston on September 4, 1955 to Joseph A. DeSantis Sr. and the late Frances DePaolo DeSantis, he was the adored father of Joey DeSantis and his wife, Erin DeSantis, Jack DeSantis and his fiancé, Gennara Romano, Jenae DeSantis and Joe’s beloved longtime companion, Africa Graham.

He is survived by his dear sister, Janice DeSantis of Chelsea and he was the brother of the late brother, James DeSantis and his niece Rachael DeSantis. He was the cherished grandfather to Lola, Francesca and Alessi DeSantis. He is also survived by his friend and mother of his children, Donna DeSantis, and her longtime companion, Eric Cardone.

The family would also like to acknowledge Joe’s loving care team and close friends who never left his side, Steven Schepici, Bobby Venezia, Brian Aucella and Trisha and Robert Romano.

His Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St, Revere today, Wednesday, June 7 at 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Revere at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Dhimitraq Goga

Of Revere, formerly of Albania

Funeral Services were conducted on June 2nd  in the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals, 262 Beach St., Revere for Dhimitraq Goga, 75, who passed away on May 27th. Interment followed in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Born in Berat, Albania, he was raised and educated there and spent the majority of his working career as a mechanic in the textile industry. Following his retirement, he came to the United States over 12 years ago and settled in Revere. His family traveled to the United States years prior, and he came with his wife to be closer to his children.

He was a huge soccer fan and enjoyed playing and watching the sport.

The beloved husband of Mynyre Goga of Revere, he was the devoted father of Josif Goga and his wife, Elena of Revere and Mimoza Papa and her husband, Ilir of Everett; cherished grandfather of Vanessa and Luka Papa and Joela and Melissa Goga; the dear brother of the late Stavri Goga, the late Vasilika Meli and Vangjeli Shyti of Albania. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

Michael J. ”Mike” Henry

On Saturday, June 3, close to 100 family and friends of Michael J “Mike” Henry gathered at the Brown Jug in Chelsea to say goodbye to our uncle, father, husband, friend and “Papa.” Michael J Henry Sr, recently a resident of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, but formerly of Revere and Charlestown, who entered into eternal life suddenly on Monday May 15, 2023.​

He was 71 years of age.

Mike was born in Everett on June 29, 1951, a son of the late John W and Josephine (Frances) Henry. He grew up in Charlestown and graduated from Charlestown High School where he was a member of the Majestic Knights Marching Band.​

Following his graduation, he served in the United States Army before starting his career with US Airways where he worked for 35 years before his retirement.

Mike was the beloved husband of 34 years to Beverly (Bishop) Henry and the devoted father of Michael J. Henry, Jr and his companion Lynsey Gowens. He was also a proud “papa” to Michael J Henry III, Ezra Cantin, Chase and Ethan Gowens.

In life Mike was a generous and friendly man who was always willing to do anything to help a friend or family member in need. He will be remembered and missed by his loved ones.

Michael was the beloved brother of John W Henry, Jr and his wife, Elizabeth Kurkjian, Eileen (Henry) Ward and her husband, John, Daniel F Henry and his wife, Linda Leach.​

He was the proud uncle to Stephanie, Brian, Jake, Brittany, Daniel, Kayla and Conor on the Henry side of the family and to Joseph,

Lori, Thomas, Kerri, Amy, David and Kathleen on the Bishop side of his family. He is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.

Lorraine Cousins

She Lived for her Family

Lorraine M. (Sullivan) Cousins, 79, of Revere, was called home to God on Sunday, May 28 after a lengthy battle with illness.

Born in Revere, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Lawrence D. “Danny” and Mary (Ciano) Sullivan. She was raised in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School, Class of 1962. She lived in Wakefield for several years before moving to Revere. Lorraine worked in several industries before

opening her own business, Mass Bay Cleaning Service, with Laurie Cushing, her business partner and one of her best friends.

The beloved wife of Donald E. Cousins, with whom she spent 45 years of marriage and 50 years in total, Lorraine lived for her family and loved nothing more than conversing with her relatives and close friends.

She and Donald raised a family in Revere and were partners in the truest sense of the word. They traveled extensively and passed their love of travel—among many great values—down to their daughters and granddaughters.

In addition to Donald, Lorraine is survived by: her daughters, Kristina Nappi and her partner, John of Revere, Diana McShane and her husband, Chris of New York; her granddaughters Elizabeth Nappi and her partner, Joshua Walczak of California, Victoria Nappi and her partner,

Andre Correia of Revere and her great-grandson, Sebastian Nappi-Walczak of California; many cousins as well as her lifelong friends, Portia, Hélène, Laurie and ​

Janette, who were like sisters to her.

David “Spoz” Sposito

U.S. Postal Service Retiree

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours on Friday, June 9   from 4 to 8 p.m., in the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza Beechwood, Home for  Funerals, 262 Beach St., Revere for David D. “Spoz” Sposito, 72, who died on Sunday, June 4 at his home surrounded by the love and peace of his family following a long Illness. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, June 10 beginning at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 10 a.m. Interment will be held privately.

“Spoz” was born in Chelsea on March 13, 1951 to the late Rocco and Olga (DeClemente) Sposito. He was raised and educated in Revere and graduated from St. Dominic Savio High School, Class of 1969. Spoz later enlisted in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War. He proudly served his country and was honorably discharged after three years. He then joined the United States Postal Service as a Letter Carrier, then later becoming a City Manager; his career spanned over 30 years of service.

In 2001, he married the love of his life, Nancy (Forgione). The couple settled in Wakefield where they raised their family together. His happiest moments were always at home, maintaining his home, tending to his garden or simply just being with one another.

The beloved husband of 21 years to Nancy A. (Forgione) Sposito of Wakefield, he was the loving father of Nicole Raukohl and her husband, Jonathan and Anthony Sposito, all of South Boston; cherished grandfather of Jax, Jase, Jordan, Francesca and Alessandra; devoted son of the late Rocco and Olga (DeClemente) Sposito; loving uncle of Robert C. Coppola; dear brother of Daniel J. Sposito and his wife, Lois of Wakefield and sons: Matthew and Michael Sposito and Richard R. Sposito and his wife, Marian of Danvers and daughter, Kristen DeVenne and beloved father-in-law to Alaina M Coppola.

John King

HVAC Industry Retiree With an Endless Sense of Humor

John D. King, 69, of Revere passed away on Tuesday, May 30.

The loving husband of Paula (DeFronzo) for over 42 years, he was the devoted father of Sean King and Patrick King, dear brother of Karen Dellolio and her husband, Timothy, Paul King and his late wife, Lorna, Denise King and her partner, Chris, Gary King and his wife, Karen and the late Charles King.

John had an endless sense of humor. He was always ready with a joke and never ceased to put a smile on the face of whoever he was around. John was at his happiest when he was with family. He loved attending his family summer and Christmas parties and always made time to take his family to Laconia, NH for summer vacation.

John worked in the HVAC industry for over 40 years before retiring in 2020. In his free time, he enjoyed reading science fiction and suspense novels, watching horror movies with his sons, and watching the New England Patriots.
