RHS volleyball blanks Lawrence
The Revere High boys volleyball team earned a 3-0 shutout victory at non-league opponent Lawrence last Monday. Leading the way for coach Lianne Mimmo’s squad were Larry Claudio, who tallied 10 assists and served six aces, and Kawan Dias, who delivered eight kills.
“We struggled to maintain leads, winning each set by only two points,” said Mimmo, whose squad eked out the three sets by scores of 26-24, 28-26, and 25-23.
The Patriots previously had earned a 3-2 win in their season-opener vs. non-league rival Mlton. “We were able to get lots of leads, but we struggled to keep the lead,” said Mimmo. “But it went well for us in the end.”
The scores by set in that match were 25-13, 22-25, 25-21, 17-25, and 15-7.
Leading the way for Revere in the victory were Claudio (17 assists, nine kills), Dias (10 kills, eight aces), and Juan Perez Aristizabal (10 kills).
After a 3-1 loss to another non-league rival, Boston Latin Academy, last Thursday, the Patriots, who now stand at 2-1 on the season, will embark on their Greater Boston League (GBL) schedule this week.
Mimmo and her crew were scheduled to travel to GBL foes Lynn English this past Monday and to Medford today (Wednesday). They will host non-league opponent O’Bryant High School on Friday and GBL rival Chelsea next Monday (April 14) before hitting the road to GBL foe Malden next Wednesday (April 16).
Rincon, Foster score three goals for girls lacrosse
Bianca Rincon and Jayla Foster scored three goals apiece for the Revere High girls lacrosse team in an 11-7 loss to Greater Boston League (GBL) rival Malden in the Lady Patriots’ season-opener last Tuesday. Rebecca Mercado also tallied a goal for Revere.
Coach Amy Rotger and her crew were scheduled to host non-league opponent Waltham this past Monday and to travel to GBL foes Somerville yesterday (Tuesday) and Everett tomorrow (Thursday). They will entertain non-league opponent Rockland next Monday at 4:30.
RHS baseballhosts Medford today at 4:15
The Revere High baseball team, whose season-opener with Beverly last week was postponed, was scheduled to travel to Fraser Field in Lynn to take on Greater Boston League (GBL) foe Lynn English this past Monday.
Coach Sebastian Salbo and his crew will host GBL rival Medford today (Wednesday) at 4:15. They will travel to non-league opponent Northeast Regional on Friday. The Patriots will entertain GBL foe Chelsea on Monday and trek to Malden next Wednesday.
RHS softball hosts Northeast this Friday at 5:00
The Revere High softball team, whose first two contests have been postponed, will host Northeast Regional this Friday at 5:00 at the field at St. Mary’s.
Coach Megan O’Donnell and her crew will play at Medford today (Wednesday) and at Chelsea on Monday. They will entertain Malden next Wednesday at 4:15.
RHS boys lacrosse hosts Lynn, Bos. Tech
The Revere High boys lacrosse team, which was scheduled to open its season yesterday (Tuesday) against Somerville, will entertain Lynn tomorrow (Thursday) and Tech Boston on Friday. The opening draw for both contests is set for 4:00 on the turf field at Revere High.
RHS flag football opens season Mon.
Coach Briana Sctata and the Revere High girls flag football team will kick off its spring season this Monday (April 14) with two contests against Arlington Catholic and Cambridge starting at 6:00 at Harry Della Russo Stadium.
