The Revere Public School Middle School Cross Country was off and running at their first meet last Thursday. Under a beautiful fall sky, the team participated in their first meet of the season at Belle Isle Marsh Reservation. Belle Isle is one of the last remaining salt marshes in Boston and offers unique views of plants and wildlife for runners on their trail of 1.8 miles.
Revere Eighth-grader Walter Guzman finished first among all runners. 7th grader Kosta Stamatopoulos and 6th grader Marco Spiriti finished 4th and 9th in the boys’ division. Teammates Gabriella Aguilar, Kamella Harris and Siobhan Zierten finished 7th, 9th and 10th in the girls’ division.
Next up this week is a meet in Chelsea.
The team, coached by RPS teachers Jenna Thomas and Melissa Randall, competed against a strong Somerville squad.
