Harry Goodwin

Of Virginia

Harry W. Goodwin of Warrenton, VA passed away at his home on October 22. He was 88 years old.

Mr. Goodwin, who enjoyed watching baseball and being with his grandchildren, was born in Leominster, MA, a son of the late Minnie L. Goodwin and Winfield R. Goodwin. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Mary Henderson Goodwin, and five siblings.

Mr. Goodwin, who enjoyed watching baseball and being with his grandchildren, is survived by his daughter, Mary Rump and her husband, Mark of Chambersburg, PA, a son, Raymond “Eddie” Underwood of Barrington, NH; 11 grandchildren: Michael “Alex” Shelton, David, Aaron, Gregory, Virginia, April, Rachael and Sarah Rump, and Eric, Adam and Andrea Underwood. Also surviving is a foster daughter, Catherine Muise of Ashby, MA

The family will receive friends at Moser Funeral Home today, Wednesday October 28 from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Quantico National Cemetery. Beatrice Garvey

State of Mass. retired; dedicated US Naval Officer during World War II

Beatrice E. “Bea’” (DeVanney) Garvey died peacefully in her sleep on October 17in her Beachmont home overlooking her cherished ocean view. She was 95 years old.

An outdoor enthusiast who was oftentimes spotted walking along the seashore, Beatrice was born on January 22, 1920 in Dracut, MA, the eighth of nine siblings. She resided most of her life in Dracut before moving to Revere in 1979.

Beatrice was a dedicated officer in World War II. She was a naval veteran and spent a long and illustrious career with the State of Massachusetts. She retired in 1973.

During her many years in Beachmont, Bea’s life was enriched as she became the adored friend to her second family, the Permatteos. She leaves her faithful friend and devotee, Ronald Permatteo and his daughters, NiCole & Noelle.

Beatrice was the mother to twin daughters: Carolyn McLeod of New Hampshire and the late, Cynthia Livie of Maine. She is also survived by five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

At Mrs. Garvey’s request, a private Memorial Service was held at the Morse-Bayliss Funeral Home in Lowell on October 22. Donations may be made in her memory to The Wounded Warriors Foundation or to a children’s charity of your choice.

William ‘Butchie’ Wilson

Retired auto salesman; member of D.A.V.

William F. “Butchie” Wilson of Saugus, formerly of Medford and Somerville, died at home on October 21. He was 70 years old.

Born and raised in Somerville and a graduate of Somerville High School, he was a retired auto salesman, a US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the D.A.V.

He was the beloved husband of Sharon Ann (Ritvo); devoted father of Jon Scott of Malden, Jeffrey and his wife, Nancy of Tewksbury and Connie Ferrari of Medford; dear brother of Joseph Brady and his wife, Ann of Plymouth, Carol Costello of Wilmington, Michael Tevault and his wife, Barbara of Middleboro and the late Francis Tevault and his surviving wife, Louise, Louis Wilson and his wife, Angus, Grace Bayles and her husband, John, Frances Gibbs and her husband, Fred, Gertrude “Trudy” Witham and her husband, James and Joseph L Wilson II. He is also survived by six loving grandchildren: Jamie, Jordan, Emma, Jack, Christian and Brooke and by many loving nieces and nephews. Allen Flynn

Retired US Postal worker and K of C member

Allen J. Flynn of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died suddenly by accident on October 24. He was 86 years old.

Born and raised in East Boston, the son of the late Thomas and Helen (McCormack) Flynn, he was a graduate of East Boston High School. Mr. Flynn was a former U.S Postal worker beginning his career at the South Postal Annex and retiring from the Airport Post office and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 179.

He was the beloved husband of the late Vincenza (Firicano); devoted father of Doreen McNally of Methuen and Allen M. Flynn of Revere; cherished grandfather of Stefanie and Shannon Mc Nally; dear brother of Helen Almeida of East Boston and the late William, John, Thomas and Anna DeRousi. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Carmela (Grech) Dimino of Revere died on October 25. She was 89 years old.

A homemaker, born in Porto Empedocle, Italy, she was the beloved wife of the late Calogero Dimino; devoted mother of Angelo Dimino and his wife, Doreen of Revere and the late Carlo Dimino; dear sister of Lina Maniscalco of Revere and the late Joseph and Rosario Grech; cherished grandmother of Angelo and Joseph Dimino, both of Revere and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons~Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere on Friday, October 30 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Funeral Mass in Christian Assembly Church, Somerville, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Fernanda Ferraci-Schneider

Retired stitcher

Fernanda Ferraci-Schneider of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died on October 24. She was 92 years old.

Mrs. Schneider worked many years as a stitcher. She was born in Rome Italy, the daughter of the late Gulio and Giuseppina (Giovannetti) and was the beloved wife of the late Francis Schneider; devoted mother of Bruno Giardiello of Malden loving grandmother of Nanda, Tatiana, Bruno and Nadia and great grandmother of Antonio, Isabella and Alessandro; dear sister of the late Renato Ferracci, Idalo Ferracci, Primo Ferracci and Sergio Ferracci and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere today, Wednesday, October 28 at 5:30 p.m. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St Anthony’s Church at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Henry Chamberlin, Jr.

Mechanical Engineer, of Virginia, formerly of Revere

Henry S. Chamberlin, Jr. of Winchester, Virginia, formerly of Revere, died on October 10 at the home of his daughter in Augusta, West Virginia. He was 73 years old.

Henry was born on March 1, 1942 in Revere, the son of the late Henry S. and Elba (Romano) Chamberlin. He was a mechanical engineer, a graduate of Boston College High School and the University of Notre Dame.

The beloved husband of 50 years of the late Sandra J. (Barker) Chamberlin who died on March 18, 2015, he was the devoted father of Scott H. and his wife, Candy of California, Holly A. Grim and her husband, Scott of West Virginia, Heather J. Chamberlin of Virginia and Michelle L. Fontaine and her husband, George of West Virginia; dear brother of Stephen Chamberlin of Revere, Carla Zdanowicz of Methuen and Debbie Grandstaff of Florida and is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Adam Chamberlin and Zoe Grim.
