Parent is 9th, Fitzpatrick 10th at Division 1 Meet

Marisa Parent and Mike Fitzpatrick turned in the top performances for the Revere High boys and girls track teams at Saturday’s Eastern Mass. Division 1 Meet held at Andover High.

Marisa just missed qualifying for the finals in the 100 meter dash,  finishing in ninth place in a time of 13.25, just .22 off the eighth place girl who clocked a time of 13.03. Marisa also competed in the 200 meter dash and finished in a tie for 12th position out of the large field in 27.67.

Fitzpatrick finished in 10th spot in the 800 meter run, setting a personal record time of 1:59.93, the only Revere runner to break 2:00 in the 800 since Samnang Ros set the RHS mark in 1998 with a clocking of 1:59.33. Fitzy’s time was the 28th best in the entire state on Saturday and he may be tabbed to compete in the all-state meet Saturday at Bridgewater State College.

Other Revere tracksters who competed in Saturday’s meet were Briana Scata, who tossed the discus 71 feet, six inches, and Karim Sahila, who ran the 400 meter hurdles in 1:03.96.
