The Revere High girls soccer team pulled out a dramatic 1-1 tie with Beverly last week thanks to a goal by sophomore Jackie Noel with just 30 seconds to play. Senior Captain Marisa Parent brought the ball down close to the Beverly net and then fed a nice pass over to Noel for the exciting equalizing.
“The team played incredibly well throughout the game,†said RHS head coach Natalie Lyons. “We only had 13 girls because of injuries, but they never gave up. Everyone played their hearts out.â€
RHS keeper Melissa Adreani turned in a stellar performance in net with 20 saves.
On Monday Lyons’s crew came out on the short end of a 3-1 decision to Gloucester. The Lady Patriots came out a bit flat and spotted Gloucester a 3-0 in the first half, but picked up the pace after the intermission. Sophomore Gina Restiano scored the Revere goal on a perfectly executed header off a corner kick by Parent.
Lyons cited the play of junior Venous Hamza at sweeper and junior Brittany Brown against Gloucester.
Lyon and her crew entertain Lynn English today (Wednesday) and Peabody Friday. They travel to Lynn Classical Tuesday and to Winthrop next Wednesday.
