Revere students win MWRA Poster Contest

The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) recently announced there were eight winners from Revere in MWRA’s Annual Poster Contest. There were 5 winners from the Hill Elementary School. Idalyah Nestor, Gr. 2 won Third Place and Jennavieve Pitrone, Gr. 2 won Honorable Mention in the Gr. K-2 category. Melanie Mancia M., Gr. 4 won Second Place and Leandro Ruiz Vega, Gr. 5 and Isabella Valencia, Gr. 4 won Honorable Mention in the Gr. 3-5 category. Sage Samuel Bullard from Immaculate Conception School, Gr. 5 won Third Place. In the Gr. 6-8 category, from Garfield Middle School, Grade 8 students, Princy Patel and Andrea Basta won Honorable Mention.

Close to 200 people gathered at the MWRA Deer Island Facility on May 24th to honor this year’s contest winners. This year, students across the MWRA service area were challenged to use their creative skills to design a poster or write an essay, poem or story about the different jobs at the MWRA. Winners were selected from over 1,100 posters and over 200 writing entries.
