On May 24, the Revere Police Department’s Behavioral Health Unit was awarded one of this year’s CIT Excellence Awards. The Behavioral Health Unit demonstrates the value of collaboration and partnership across disciplines and their commitment to serving community members that are impacted by behavioral health. CIT embraces the concepts and philosophies of Crisis Intervention Training and takes the next steps to implement programing in order for officers to utilize the knowledge and skills taught. The establishment of the Revere Police Department’s Behavioral Health Unit has partnered up with Revere’s public health and SUDHI office along with North Suffolk Community Services
