Vinny’s Food Market, 296 Malden St., sold a $10 million winning ticket to a lucky customer in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$10,000,000 Gold†instant game.
Lisa Gochakowski of Somerville bought the $20 ticket during a visit to the store. She chose the cash caption and received a one-time payment of $6.5 million, according to a Lottery press release.
“I’m very happy for her,†said Angelo Prezioso, owner of the store. “God bless her and good luck.â€
Gochakowski came in to the store on Valentine’s Day last Tuesday and purchased a ticket along with some food items.
“Lisa called my mother [Giusseppina Prezioso] at the store to tell us she hit it and I called to congratulate her,†said Prezioso. “She’s a very nice woman.â€
Angelo said the store has been a lucky spot for Lottery players.
“A person won $1.29 million in the Mega Millions game and then hit for $10,000 two weeks later,†said Angelo. “We also had a $100,000 winner in Powerball last year.â€
Angelo will celebrate his 60th birthday on Feb. 23. “My wife and kids are taking me to Aruba so this was a little extra bonus for the vacation.â€
Angelo said the store receives $50,000 for selling the winning ticket.
