Congratulations Superintendent Dakin

For those of us who know Paul Dakin,  the fact that he won the Massachusetts Superintendent of the Year Award was not surprising.  From the time that he assumed the reins of the Revere school system a decade ago from Carol Tye, the professionalism that Tye made her hallmark and that he witnessed as Carol’s assistant superintendent has continued, a lengthy tenure of success that has attracted top quality teachers and administrators. Indeed, the best indication of that success is that many of our best and brightest educators have been lured away to top positions in neighboring cities and towns.

However, Paul is not one to rest on past accomplishments. or losing. He constantly recruits and trains teachers and administrators to provide a top public school education to all  students who are committed to working at their studies. In this process of attracting new talent, Paul provides the environment that fosters teachers and administrators to excel.

So while it is not surprising that Paul won this prestigious award,  it is also not surprising that Paul thanked the staff, teachers, and administrators of the Revere Public Schools for making this award possible.

Congratulations Paul.
