Maura A. (Carney) Bang of Winthrop, formerly of Croton, NY, died suddenly on July 24.
She was the beloved wife of Peter V. Bang; mother of Christopher V. and Melissa Bang, both of Winthrop.

Lifelong Beachmont resident
Mary Ann (DelGrosso) Coluntino, a lifelong resident of Beachmont, Revere died on July 28 following a courageous battle with cancer under the loving care of her twin daughters, Nancy and Dena, along with the support of truly caring family and friends. She was 73 years old.
She was a graduate of Revere High School and worked at Sheraton Worldwide Headquarters. She will always be remembered for the warmth and love she spread to others, her kind spirit, generosity, and good sense of humor. She loved her family and friends and expressed it through her joy of cooking and dining with them.
She was the beloved wife of Leo J. Coluntino, loving mother of Dina and Dave Alioto of Winthrop and Nancy and Doug Finnegan of Peabody, dear sister of Jennie Hittinger of Saugus, cherished nana of Tyler, Ali, Jade, and Ava Lee.
Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. John Niles and Dr. Donald Lawrence and all the MGH caregivers, family friend, Ms. Donna Delorey of Winthrop, Hospice caregivers, particularly Melissa, for all their kindness, caring and help over the past year.

Pauline Kirby
Past President of Revere Emblem Club, State Welfare Department retiree
Pauline E. (Tighe) Kirby of Revere died on July 30 following a brief illness at the Lighthouse Nursing & Care Center of Revere. She was 97 years old.
Born in Chelsea on August 6, 1913, she lived her entire life in Revere and was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1931. Early in her working career, she was a telephone operator for the old Revere Memorial Hospital for several years. Later, she was a telephone operator for the Department of Public Welfare at 600 Washington Street in Boston for 10 years. She retired in 1980.
A longtime member of the Revere Emblem Club, she held the post of President for four terms. She was also a  member of the Revere Lodge of Elks #1171 and a life time member of the Immaculate Conception Parish Community.
She was the widow of the late Robert E. Kirby; devoted mother of Brendan T. Kirby, Paula C. Martin and her husband, William J., Dorothy F. Foley and her husband, Gerald, all of Revere; cherished grandmother of Patrick M. Foley of Chelsea, Paul R. Foley of Malden, Ann C. Belliveau and her late husband, David M. of Revere and Robert J. Martin and his wife, Julie of Saugus. She is also lovingly survived by her great grandchildren, Catherine A. Belliveau and Liam J. Martin and many nieces and nephews. She was the dear sister, of the late Revere Patrolman Edward J. Tighe.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte 107) Revere today, Wednesday, August 3 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Revere at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Cemetery, West Peabody.

David J. DiPiano of Lynn died on July 25.
He was the beloved son of the late Roger A. and Carol E. (Miriaglia) DiPiano; devoted brother of Roger T. DiPiano of Winthrop and John G. DiPiano and his wife, Amy of Salem; cherished uncle of Michael D. DiPiano of Connecticut and Nathan E. DiPiano of Salem.

Rosina (Iantosca) Pagliuca of East Boston died on July 28.
She was the beloved wife for more than 63 Years to Ezecchia Pagliuca; devoted mother of Anna Pagliuca, Antonio and his late wife, Rose, all of East Boston; dear sister of Marie and Armenio Iantosca, both of Italy. The sister of five late brothers and two late sisters, she was the cherished grandmother of Rosanna, Angela, Tonia and the late Rosemarie and Ciriaco and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Giacomo Mannone of Gloucester, formerly of Revere, East Boston and Marsala, Siciliy, died on July 28.
The beloved husband of the late Caterina “Terina” (Valenti) Mannone with whom he shared 63 years of marriage, he was the loving father of Filomena “Fina” Sebastiano “Sebio” Mannone, Massimo “Max” Mannone and his wife, Antonette, all of Gloucester and the late Antonia “Nino” Mannone and his wife, Antonette of Stoneham; cherished grandfather of 15 and great grandfather of 16.

Frederick DeSimone, Sr. of Wakefield, formerly of Orient Heights East Bostonm died on July 27. He was in his 90th year.
A US Army veteran of World War II, he was the beloved husband of 65 years to Madeline (Marcellin); cherished son of the late Carlo and Antonetta (Colarusso) DeSimone; loving father of Carl and his wife, Karen of Medford, Frederick Jr. and his wife, Theresa of Wakefield; devoted brother of the late Michael DeSimone and fond uncle of Michael and Stephen DeSimone. He was lovingly adored by his grandchildren, Liza and Daniel Internicola, Dawn Fonseca, Erica and Roberto “Chickie” Capogreco, Michelle and Vincent Gunetta, Frederick DeSimone III and Katelynn and Patric Jarvis as well as his great grandchildren Samantha, Sarah, Serena, Nicholas, Michelena, Antonio and Lola. He is also survived by many inlaws in Utah and Arizona.

Vincent A. “Jimmy” LaRaia of Malden, formerly of Revere, died on July 27.
A US Army veteran of World War II, he was the husband of the late Susan (D’Addario) LaRaia; loving father of James J. LaRaia and his wife, Elaine of Melrose and the late Deborah A. Duly; beloved grandfather of Laura LaRaia of Melrose, Erik Duly of Virginia and Mark Duly of Lynn; dear brother of Andy LaRaia of Burlington, Katie Venuti of Quincy, Eleanor Pierotti of Pennsylvania, the late Nancy Caparella, Rose D’Amato, Isabelle Saviano, Joseph LaRaia and Guy LaRaia.

Former US Air employee
Eric J. Phillips of New Hampshire, a former Revere resident, died unexpectedly on July 25 at the Mass. General Hospital in Boston. He was 44 years old.
Born, raised and educated in Revere, he was a 1985 graduate of Revere High School. He lived in Revere until moving to Hudson, NH 13 years ago. For more than 20 years, he was a ramp service employee of U.S. Air at Logan Airport but was forced to leave his job in 2009 as the result of a serious cardiac condition. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the Fish & Game Club of Hudson, NH, and the American Legion Post 0048 of Hudson, NH. An extraordinary chef, he enjoyed hosting his family and his many many friends on numerous camping and fishing trips over the years.
Paramount in his life was his dedication and responsibility to his two adoring daughters, Brianna J. and Kayla A. Phillips. He was the beloved son of James J. “Buddy” Phillips of Revere and the late Anna May (Anderson) Phillips, the cherished father of Brianna J. and Kayla A. Phillips, both of Hudson and Nashua, NH; devoted brother of Terese Phillips of East Cambridge and the late Karen Phillips and is also survived by his former wife, Jennifer (Boucher) Phillips of Nashua, NH.
