James C. Baillie

Decorated Vietnam Veteran

James C. Baillie of Saginaw, Michigan, formerly of Revere, passed away on August 4 after a long illness surrounded by his loved ones.

Jim was one of eight children born to the late Hugh and Ruth Priscilla Baillie; brother of David Baillie and Nancy Imbracsio of Revere, Ruth Bridges of Boiling Springs, SC and the late Hugh (Sonny), Douglas, Jane Giordano, and Ronald.

James was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1961 and soon after married his wife, Michele.  While their marriage wouldn’t last forever, they remained close until the day she departed. As a team they raised two sons, James and Douglas.  Years later he met his next love, Diana Loudenslager, whose relationship lasted close to 40 years until Diana’s passing in 2021.  Diana had five children and Jim loved them as if they were his own.

Jim was a decorated veteran having served in the US Army infantry in Vietnam where he received five Bronze Stars and two Purple Heart Medals.  After being discharged, he enjoyed a career in the HVAC industry working for United Refrigeration, Inc. in Raleigh, NC.

He is survived by his children, James (Gena) Baillie, Douglas Baillie and grandchildren, James, Benjamin and Zachary as well as the children and grandchildren from his additional family with Diana and many adoring nieces and nephews.

James will be laid to rest at Bourne National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. 

James F. Doyle, Sr.

Retired Revere Fire Department Lieutenant

James F. Doyle, 85, of Peabody, formerly of Revere, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 13, 2024. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired Lt. of the Revere Fire Department proudly serving the Beachmont section of Revere.

He is survived by his beloved children, Jimmy of Newburyport and Nancy of Peabody. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Patricia, and his sister Sally.

He is also survived by his six nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were conducted on Monday, August 19th in the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. Manuel “Manny” Higuera

He succeeded in living the American Dream

Manuel “Manny” Higuera, 64 of Revere passed away on August 7, 2024.

Manny was born on February 9, 1960 in Sinaloa, Mexico to his parents, Ricardo and Rosario.

Migrating to the United States, Manny succeeded living the American Dream by becoming a US Citizen and buying his first family home in Revere, which was enjoyed by his children, grandchildren, and his beloved dog, Chubbs.

Manny was the definition of a hard worker, working two full time jobs at Mass. General Hospital in Boston for over 25 years and the former New England Medical Center. When he retired, Manny fulfilled his lifelong dream to return to Mexico to build his dream home and care for his farm animals including the roosters which he loved.

Those who had the pleasure of meeting him throughout his years of life would commend Manny on how friendly and kind he was. He always found an excuse to show off photos of his children and grandchildren. He was proud of everyone’s successes in life.

Manny is survived by his children: Jonathan Higuera, Karen Higuera Arango, and Michelle Higuera; his six grandchildren: David Higuera, Dejanae Higuera, Anastasia Higuera, Vincenzo Santilli, Logan Webber Higuera and Aurora Higuera and his brother and sister who reside in Mexico, Humberto Higuera and Armida Higuera; his nieces and nephews; Humberto Higuera, Monica Higuera, Rocío Higuera, Ricardo Higuera, Maira Higuera, Beatriz Martinez Higuera, Armando Martinez Higuera and Alejandro Martinez Higuera.
