Guest Op-Ed: Don’t Sit This One Out — Your Voice Still Matters this November

By Anthony Parziale

My fellow Revere residents,

It’s official the ballot is set for the 2025 City Election. And yes, you may have already heard: in five out of our six wards, there won’t be a contested race for City Councillor. That’s right, only one ward will see a head-to-head campaign. And some you might be thinking, “Why even bother voting this year?”

Let me tell you exactly why: because your vote still matters. In fact, it matters more than ever.

This November, Revere voters will be choosing five At-Large City Councillors, the people who represent everyone in this city, no matter what ward you live in. These are the voices that will help shape our entire community’s future  from public safety and infrastructure to affordability and accountability.

We’re also voting for School Committee members the people who make decisions that directly impact our children, our families, and the next generation of Revere leaders.

I know what some of you are thinking: “If there’s no race in my ward, why make the trip to the polls?” But if we give in to that thinking, we let decisions get made without us. We let other people choose the direction of our city even when the power should be in all of our hands.

I believe in a Revere where every voice counts! Whether you live in Beachmont, North Revere, The Pines, or anywhere in between. And I’m asking you: show up this November. Cast your vote. Be heard.

Because this election isn’t about one ward. It’s about all of us. It’s about who we trust to fight for working families, seniors, small businesses, and the everyday people who make this city great.

Let’s not sit this one out. Let’s show the rest of Massachusetts what Revere is made of.

See you at the polls.

Anthony Parziale is a candidate for City Councillor At Large in the upcoming election.
