LouAnn (Perullo) Stanton

LouAnn Stanton passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 24, 1955, in Revere, MA, to the late Charles and the late Lucy (Gato) Perullo.

LouAnn was a proud graduate of Revere High School’s Class of 1972, carrying the spirit of her hometown with her throughout her life. That same dedication and sense of community guided her 38-year career with the Department of Health.

LouAnn met the love of her life in 1983, her devoted husband, Chris Stanton, and together they shared 40 wonderful years of marriage filled with love and adventure. She found joy in traveling with him, making memories in new places, and especially treasured their summers by the lake in Barnstead, New Hampshire, and their winters on the beach in Hollywood, Florida. LouAnn was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She shared a deep bond with all of her nieces and nephews, always offering a guiding hand, a listening ear, and a voice of reason.

LouAnn was the heart of every family gathering, bringing loved ones together with warmth, laughter, and a spirit that made every occasion feel special. Whether hosting cookouts, celebrating anniversaries, or making graduations unforgettable, she poured her heart into every moment, ensuring those around her felt valued and loved. She had a rare ability to turn simple gatherings into cherished memories, and her home was always a place of comfort, joy, and togetherness—a true reflection of the love she gave so freely.

LouAnn is survived by her beloved husband, Christopher Stanton of Melrose, her sister Mary O’Neil and her husband David of Bridgewater, and her brother Charles Perullo and his wife Joanne of Revere, MA, her brother-in-law Martin Stanton and his wife Eileen, sister-in-law Anne Stanton, brother-in-law Joe Stanton and his wife Charee all of Melrose, sister-in-law Catherine Stanton of Revere, brother-in-law Patrick Stanton of Salem, NH, brother-in-law Michael Stanton and his wife Deborah of Sandwich, and brother-in-law Mark Stanton of Melrose. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster Street, Melrose. A Mass Of Christian Burial will be on Monday, March 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Herbert St, Melrose. Interment will follow the mass at Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. Family & Friends respectfully invited to attend.
