Clarice Zaccaria

Everyone’s favorite, devoted to family and friends

Private services were held for Clarice P. (Abbott) Zaccaria of Revere who died, surrounded by her loving family, on July 7 at the Massachusetts General Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Lynn on Dec. 31, 1932, in a 100-year-old house during a blizzard, Mrs. Zaccaria was a beach walker for many years and enjoyed riding her banana seat bicycle. She worked at Champion Lamp on the Lynnway, working with incandescent lamps and Christmas light bulbs. After she married, she focused on raising her family as a devoted mother and homemaker.

The beloved widow of the late Louis G. Zaccaria who passed on May 20, 2001, a former mechanic for Ocean Amusements and later Stearn’s Hardware, he was known by many as “Louie” and was always wearing a cap.

She was the devoted and cherished mother to Linda J. Mustone and her husband, Christopher of Hookset, N.H., Roseann Zaccaria of Revere and North Hampton, N.H. and her companion, William Leighton of Revere, Maryann Bartes and her husband, Jim of Lawrence and the late louis D. Zaccaria, who passed on Dec. 4, 2002. She is also lovingly survived by three special grandsons: Louis A Zaccaria and his wife, Dawn and great-grandson, Nicholas of Hanson, Craig L. Zaccaria and his devoted companion, Rebecca Smith and his daughter and great-granddaughter, Sabrina, James Bartes Jr. and his wife, Jenn along with three great-grandchildren: Clayton, Colin and Conner and a granddaughter, Adrien Bartes and her companion, Matt McMan of Virginia. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law JoAnne (Zaccaria) Yebba and three loving granddaughters: Nicole, Sophia and Jolena Zaccaria of her late son Louis D. Zaccaria. She was the beloved daughter of the late Clarence Abbott and Rose Ella (Ellis) Abbott and the dear sister to the late Nathalie Hicks, Norma Bennett and brother William Abbott; the eldest devoted niece Donna Whitehead of New Market, N.H., sister Mary Bennett of Lowell and brother Johnny Bennett and his late son, John Jr. of Lowell and many grandnieces: Arlene, Elaine, Holly, Marion Norma, Merinda, Julie, Susan and Hydie.

Mrs. Zaccaria was devoted to family and friends and found most joy in the company and presence of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Known affectionately as “ Auntie Clarice,” “Nan” and by friends as “Clarissa” and “Ma Dukes,” she was everyone’s favorite; a beautiful testimony to a life lovingly lived.

Interment was private.

Joseph Badolato, Jr.

Of Revere

Joseph A. Badolato, Jr. of Revere died on July 28.

The beloved husband of Diane (Kennedy) and the late Jean (DiCarlo), he was the devoted father of Joseph Badolato of Lynnfield, Darlene Fusco and her husband, Charles ”RFD” of Revere, stepfather of  Dawn Marie Correale and her husband, Robert of Revere and the late James Badolato; dear brother of Charles Badolato of Revere and the late William. He is also survived by nine loving grandchildren: Michael, Alicia, Ryan, Jeana, Eric, CJ, Robert, Anthony and Michael.

Funeral services will be held in the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere today, Wednesday, Aug. 2, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.  lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Care VNA, Hospice & Home Care, 210 Market St., Lynn, MA  01901. Mary Pedersen

60-year Revere resident, formerly of Russia

Funeral services were held privately for Mary (Kozak) Pedersen, a 60-year resident of Revere and a native of Russia who died on Wednesday, July 26 at the Kaplan Family Hospice of Danvers, ending a long period of declining health. She was 92 years old.

Born in the Ukraine, Russia, Mary came to this country in the late 1950s and lived in Revere for over 50 years. Mary worked as a waitress in several Boston-area restaurants when she first arrived in this country.

She was the wife of the late Ralph C. Pedersen, who passed in August of 2000. She was the devoted mother of Walter T. Szuciak and his wife, Maria of Hanover, Jeanne M. Giuffre and her husband, Peter of Revere and Thomas L. Pedersen and his wife, Deanne and the late Joanne Szuciak and Ralph J. Pedersen;  the cherished grandmother of Joseph M. Szuciak, with whom she made her home in Revere, Michael W. Szuciak of Hanover and Nicholas R. and Peter J. Giuffre of Revere. She was the dear sister of the late Anastasia Maiceiwna of the Ukraine, Russia. She is also lovingly survived. by many nieces and nephews.
