REVERE – Former city councilor, school committee member and Revere firefighter Patsy “Pat†W. Tata will be laid to rest Friday morning.
He passed away Jan. 2 at the age of 87. In honor of his service to the city the city council issued a Resolution of Condolence, recognizing his loss.
John Powers, council president, said Tata “leaves a vacancy in the official family in the city of Revere that will be difficult to fill.â€
A World War II Navy veteran, Tata served on the Revere Fire Department for 36 years. He was a city councilor from 1986 to 1993 and a former school committee member.
“He served and guarded the people of Revere,†said Powers.
He was married to the late Phyllis (Siciliano) Tata for 65 years. He was the father of 8 children, grandfather of 17 and great-grandfather of 5.
Calling hours will be tonight at the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals from 3-8pm. Friday the funeral begins at 10 am at the funeral home followed by a funeral mass at 11am at St. Anthony of Padua Church.
