Patsy Tata Dead at 87

REVERE – Former city councilor, school committee member and Revere firefighter Patsy “Pat” W. Tata will be laid to rest Friday morning.

He passed away Jan. 2 at the age of 87. In honor of his service to the city the city council issued a Resolution of Condolence, recognizing his loss.

John Powers, council president, said Tata “leaves a vacancy in the official family in the city of Revere that will be difficult to fill.”

A World War II Navy veteran, Tata served on the Revere Fire Department for 36 years. He was a city councilor from 1986 to 1993 and a former school committee member.

“He served and guarded the people of Revere,” said Powers.

He was married to the late Phyllis (Siciliano) Tata for 65 years. He was the father of 8 children, grandfather of 17 and great-grandfather of 5.

Calling hours will be tonight at the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals from 3-8pm. Friday the funeral begins at 10 am at the funeral home followed by a funeral mass at 11am at St. Anthony of Padua Church.
