The Revere High boys tennis team earned its third win of the season with a tidy 4-1 triumph at Salem in their only match last week. Coach Mike Flynn’s Patriots now stand at 3-2 on the season.
All three of the Patriots singles players won in straight sets, led by Capt. Malak Mossadek, who topped his Salem counterpart at first singles, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4. “The Salem boy has been a three year starter, so that was a nice win for Malak,†said Flynn.
Sophomore Mladen Pepic remained undefeated this season with a 7-5, 6-3 triumph at No. 2 singles and fellow soph Nick Mucci easily won at third singles, 6-2, 6-3.
The first doubles pairing of Joseph Tran and Pariwat Chaiwong were winners by a score of 6-3, 7-6 (7-2). The second doubles duo of juniors Nick Tran and Soun Lee played well, but came out on the short end of a 6-3, 7-5 decision.
“We played well,†said Flynn. “The boys are continuing to work hard and are improving with every match, which is what we are hoping to do throughout the season.â€
Flynn and his team are at Gloucester Monday and at Lynn English next Wednesday.
