Mike Fitzpatrick, Vin DiChiara, and Vito Licata won two events each and the RHS boys track team took 10 of 15 events on the day to roll to a 96-40 victory over Saugus last Monday in their season opening meet.
Licata won the shotput with a heave of 39-5 and the discus with a twirl of 106-0; DiChiara sped to victory in the 100 meter hurdles in 20.4 and tossed the javelin 127-4; and Fitzpatrick claimed top honors in the 400 meter hurdles in 61.3 and the 800 meter run in 2:10.2.
Other first place finishers for Coach Jack Mosko’s squad were Ernesto Bonilla in the two mile in 11:50; Kristi Nushi in the mile in 5:30; and Ricardo Maldanado in the high jump with a leap of 5-4.
In addition, the 4 x 100 meter relay quartet of Joe Ritchie, Jeff Simbert, Breny Guzman, and DiChiara raced past their Saugus counterparts to take first place in a time of 48.7.
Adding three points to the Revere side of the scoresheet with second place efforts were: Karim Sahila in the 400 hurdles in 63.7; Brian Collins in the two mile in12:20; Islam Douane in the mile in 5:32.4; Albion Lici in the 100 hurdles in 21.4; Devin Colon in the 400 meter run in 54.5; Guzman in the 200 dash in 24.7; Tarik Maddrey in the high jump with a leap of 5-4; Ritchie in the long jump with a leap of 19-0 and the triple jump with a hop, skip, and jump of 37-0; Simbert with a shotput throw of 37-8; and Guzman with a javelin toss of 96-6.
Third place efforts that accounted for points for the Revere cause were turned in by: John DelloRusso in the two mile in 12:24.8;Â Maldanado in the 100 meter dash in 12.2; Tuyen Tran in the 100 hurdles in 21.8; Rawlings Toglon in the 400 meter run in 55.9; Sahila in the 800 in 2:21.5 and triple jump in 35-3.5;Â Edgar Duran in the 200 in 25.8; and Andrew Estrata with a javelin toss of 90-0.
Mosko and crew journey to Beverly today (Wednesday) and to Lynn Classical Tuesday.
