Briana Scata took first place in the shotput and Jessica Simpson scored points in two events to highlight the RHS girls indoor track team’s meet against Gloucester that was held last Tuesday at Peabody. Scata’s shotput toss of 27 feet easily outdistanced the field, with the next closest competitor coming in at 23-7. Lady Patriot teammate Noelle Galli’s fine throw of 23-0 was good for a third place finish.
Simpson took second in the high jump with a leap of 4-8 and then came back for a third place effort in the 600 yard run in 1:44.3.
Lady Patriots who earned three points for the Revere scoresheet with second place finishes were: Theresa Santiano McHatton in the 45 yard dash in 6.3; Camden Sigouin in the 300 in 45.5; Tayla Hough in the 1000 in 3:13.3; and Colby Hough in the mile in 6:02.
Adding single points for their third place performances were Sara Boukdad in the 45 yard hurdles in 8.4; Amanda Digitale in the 45 yard dash in 6.3; and Maggie DiPlatzi in the two mile in 14:56.
The final tally showed Gloucester with 56 points and Revere with 26.
The girls track team will be back in action next Wednesday evening when the Lady Patriots host Salem.
