Markey going nowhere

Speculation that Congressman Ed Markey might make a run for the senate if Senator John Kerry resigns his seat to take a cabinet post in the Obama Administration is about as possible as the sun not rising tomorrow.

Markey will never leave the House, where he is presently the 15th most powerful member of Congress and well known for his ability to write legislation and to get it passed. What Markey would love most of all is to head the Federal Communications Commission, which for him, would be the equivalent of being named to the Supreme Court.

If Mayor Ambrosino is thinking about running for Congress if Markey leaves, well, he might as well think about the world coming to an end or December having 32 days – cause it isn’t going to happen.
