Virginia “Jeanie” Bolognese

Of Stoneham, formerly of Revere

Virginia “Jeanie” Bolognese of Stoneham, formerly of Revere, passed away on February 21 at the age of 83.

Born in Boston on September 27, 1940 to the late Louis Pisani and Jennie (Colannino), she was the beloved wife of the late Reginald “Reggie” Bolognese, cherished mother of Lynda Cooke and her husband, Michael of Stoneham and the late Dennis Bolognese and the late David Bolognese and the adored grandmother of Nicholas, Jenna, and Bobby.  She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation and prayer service were held at the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St, Revere and a Private Interment took place at Holy Cross Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959.  For guest book please visit www.buonfiglio.com.

Norma A. Pilato

A Woman Who Believed in Giving Back

 A private Funeral Service and Interment were held for Norma A. Pilato who died on Tuesday, February 20 at the AdviniaCare Wellesley Alzheimer’s Center following a lengthy illness. She was 90 years old.

Norma was born in Boston on June 13, 1933 and was raised and educated in East Boston. She was a graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1951. She attended one year at Bentley University, where she studied Accounting and Bookkeeping. Norma moved to Medford several years later, where she took care of her parents while she began her career. She later built her forever home in West Revere where she lived for fifty years. She worked for several nightclubs in Boston and the North Shore in a bookkeeper’s role, and she would go on to manage several nightclubs over the years — which she did until her retirement in 2011.

Norma was a woman who loved shopping for clothing and pieces for her home. She kept up with all the latest fashion trends, was a true interior designer, and had a natural flair for making everything picture perfect. In addition to decorating her home, Norma took great pleasure in traveling to New York City, dining at some of the nicest restaurants, spending the holidays and other special occasions with her family, watching football (particularly, Tom Brady) every Sunday, watching her favorite silver screen classics on the Turner Classic Movies channel, playing along with game shows on TV and doing her daily crossword puzzles and word searches in the newspaper and other magazines. Norma was a woman who believed in giving back, and she donated to her church and numerous charities throughout her lifetime.

Norma was the devoted daughter of the late Angelo R. Pilato and Josephine (Mirabile) Pilato and the cherished sister of the late James V. “Sonny” Pilato and his wife, Catherine Pilato. She was the loving aunt of Lori A. Crist, the treasured grand aunt of Gregory A. Crist and his wife, Erin, Richard T. Crist, Jr., and Lisa M. Whiteman and her husband, Michael, and the adored great grand aunt of A.J. Whiteman, all of Peabody.

Walda Moschella

She And Her Late Husband Helped Run the Loganeers Drum and Bugle Corps For Many Years

 Funeral Services were held privately for Walda M. (Sprigg) Moschella who passed away on February 15th at Chestnut Woods Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center where she has been receiving supportive care. She was 85 years of age.

Walda was born in Boston, the daughter of Mason and Helen (Lang) Sprigg. She was raised in East Boston and remained a longtime resident. She and her late husband, Edward J. Moschella helped to run the Loganeers Drum and Bugle Corps for many years. Although they never had children of their own, together they helped mold the next generation of young adults by being involved with numerous youth groups throughout the years and helping to coach children and guiding them on the right track to a bright future.

Walda enjoyed a career that spanned over 30 years with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts working in the Highway Division.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Moschella, cherished sister of Frances H. Sprigg of Revere and the late Joan Kiss, the late Barbara Capone and the late Walter Sprigg. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. ?

Robert F. Barry

Retired Revere Police Sergeant

Family and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours today, Wednesday, February 28th from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals, 262 Beach St., Revere for Retired Revere Police Sgt. Robert F. Barry, who passed away on February 24th at 80 years of age. His Funeral will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Thursday, February 29th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, 133 Beach St., Revere at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Born in Revere, he was the son of Robert J. Barry and Mildred (Goff) Barry. He attended Revere schools and was a graduate of Revere High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves and honorably served for several years. He also furthered his education by attending Northeastern University.

After marrying Maureen E. (Henneberry), the couple settled in Revere and began their family. Robert entered the Revere Police force and worked tirelessly to provide for his wife and son working his way through the ranks. He was appointed Sergeant in 1973. Robert was devoted to serving his community by both working in the police department as well as dedicating his time. He was very involved in Revere Pop Warner and helped with numerous fund raising projects over the years. One of his biggest accomplishments was helping to raise enough money to install lights at Henry Dello Russo Stadium, which allowed the stadium to host night games. He was also active with Row Row to Revere, not only as a participant, canoeing with his brother Jack, but also by serving on the Board of Directors. Robert enjoyed football and a dedicated fan of the New England Patriots, holding season tickets for many years.

The beloved husband of Maureen E. (Henneberry) Barry of Revere, he was the devoted father of John E. Barry and his husband, Tony Burgess of Wakefield and the dear brother of Jack Barry of Revere. He is also lovingly survived by many cousins.
