Revere Middle School Cross Country Team Continues To Shine

The Revere Middle School Cross Country Team continues to be competitive this season. In a recent meet against a strong Medford program, four runners finished in the top ten for their respective categories. SBA 8th Grader Walter Guzman took his third first place finish of the season crossing the 1.86 course finish line at 13:08. GMS 7th graders Kosta Stamatopoulos and Marco Spiriti finished an impressive 5th (14:17) and 9th (15:48), respectively, in the pool of 29 runners. On the girls side, Gabby Aguilar had another impressive time of 15:30 finishing 9th among the 32 runners for the girls race.

The program, which saw only 9 runners last season, is growing and showing promise as they compete with several solid programs.

This year’s girls’ team includes RMA 6th graders Milly Contreras Delgado and Kamella Harris,GMS 6th graders Sophia Correia Muriel, Mariana Lopez and Jameelah Figueroa, GMS 7th graders, Julia Barone and Dianne Brito, SBA 7th graders Alexandra Bulla and Siobhan Zierten, and SBA 8th graders Gabriella Aguilar and Helen Torres.

The  boys’ team includes GMS 6th graders Ryker Picardi-Flahiveand Joseph Doherty and Ziad Biouche (RMA), 7th graders Jayden Zani(RMA) and Kosta Stamatopoulos and Marco Spiriti (GMS), and 8th graders from RMA Walter Guzmanand Noah Shanley.

The team is coached by RMA 6th grader teacher Jenna Thomas and Whelan 3rd grade teacher Melissa Randall.

The team will travel to Medford on October 19th for the GBL Championship Meet.
