Weiner Kidnapping, Attempted Murder Case Turns Heads

In an unbelievable case involving attempted murder, Sexting and kidnapping last Sunday, one Reservoir Avenue man sits behind bars this week – held in Chelsea Court without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.

Anthony Weiner, 25, of 334 Reservoir Ave., has been charged with attempted murder and kidnapping after allegedly tying up a Winthrop man and beating him intermittently with a baseball bat over a period of time. This after allegedly beating his wife and allegedly torturing her for hours in another jurisdiction.

Revere Police told the Journal that Weiner believed his wife was cheating on him and that a Winthrop man had been sending text message to his wife. After allegedly beating her for several hours, he used her phone to text the Winthrop man – luring the unknowing victim to a house on Malden Street, allegedly the home of Weiner’s family.

Once the Winthrop man arrived, Weiner allegedly sat on him and began to beat him. After that, he tied the man to a chair with rope and began wailing on him with a baseball bat.

That transpired for some time, and then Weiner released the man, who made his way to a friend’s house in Beachmont. Police were uncertain about the details of the release, but other sources told the Journal that the wife was present and that Weiner put both the Winthrop man and his wife in a taxi cab and told the cab to go to the Whidden Hospital.

However, the victim somehow ended up in Beachmont and from there was taken to the Whidden.

The Winthrop man’s injuries were described as serious, but he is expected to live.

Weiner was arrested around 9:50 p.m. on Sunday and charged with assault to murder, armed assault and battery to intimidate with bodily injury, intimidating a witness, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of kidnapping.

The case remains under investigation.

According to reports in the Boston Herald in May 2012, Weiner’s April 2012 wedding to one of the above victims – his wife – was full of alleged violent outbursts as well. His mother, Darlene DeIorio, was arrested after fighting with the bride’s mother, and Weiner had to be restrained after brawling on the floor with the bride’s brother. The bride and victim is the daughter of a Revere Police Officer.
