William ‘Shack’ Shackelton

Revere Resident

William N. “Shack” Shackelton of Revere, formerly of Malden, died on February 18.

He was the devoted father of Amanda E. Shackelton and William N. Shackelton, Jr., both of Malden; cherished son of the late Carolyn (Hodgdon) (Shackelton) Topping and her husband, Howard Topping of Malden and Robert C. Shackelton and his wife, Carolyn and their two daughters, Trisha and Greta, of Wenham; adored brother of Susan L. Bickford and her husband, Thomas of Malden; loving companion of Susan Falzarano of Revere and the former husband of Susan (Gear) Shackelton of Malden. He also leaves nieces, nephews, and cousins.

William Lanza

Former US Postal Service Employee

William A. Lanza of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died at Cape Cod Hospital on February 12.

He was a former employee of the US Postal Service, South Postal Annex, a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a Bronze Star Air Medal recipient.

Born and raised in East Boston, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Piccarello) Lanza ;  the beloved husband of Yolanda (DiGiulio); devoted father of Patricia Fitzgerald and her late husband, John of East Sandwich, Susanne Tuttle and her husband, Donald of Easton, AnnMarie Lanza and her husband, Bruce Porter of Sudbury; loving grandfather of Patrick Fitzgerald and his wife, Jennifer of Pennsylvania and Brian Fitzgerald and his wife, Meghan of New York and is also survived by three loving great grandchildren: Aaron, Brendan and Maeve.

Charles Louis Sclafani of Everett died on February 14. He was the loving father of Maria and Nicole Sclafani, both of Revere and Melissa McCusker and her fiancé, Joe Silva of Chelsea; son of the late Lucy and Gus Sclafani and brother of Kay Valeri and her husband, Frank and the late Michael Sclafani who is survived by his wife, Lilly as well as a loving grandson, Randy A. Ellen (Weinberg) Kelly of Lynn, formerly of Revere, died suddenly on February 15. She was 64 years old.

A graduate of Revere High School, she was the former Secretary for the Education Department of the Grand Lodge of Masons.The devoted wife of John P. Joseph H. Donnelly, Jr. of Florida, formerly of Scituate and Revere, died on February 5.

Ellen (Helen) Kulchinsky, formerly of Point of Pines, died on February 2 in California of a heart ailment. She was 91 years  old.
She was the daughter of Morris and Jennie Lintz and the devoted wife of Aaron Kulchinsky; the sister of the late Danny Lintz and grandmother of the late Tosh.
She is survived by her daughters, June Kulchinsky and Ruth Nealand and son-in-law, Daniel; grandchildren Sasha, Rene and Arora; her loving sister Evelyn Atkins and brother-in-law Bernard and her nephew and eight nieces.
Services were held at Stanetsky & Hymanson Memorial Chapel in Salem followed by burial at the Pride of Lynn Cemetery.

Frank Misiano, Jr.

Former Revere Plumbing Inspector

Frank J. Misiano, Jr. of Lynnfield, formerly of Revere, died on February 15 at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston following a valiant six month battle with metastatic carcinoma. He was 56 years old.

Born and raised in Revere, he was a 1973 graduate of the Wakefield Vocational High School. He took over his father’s plumbing business, “Seacrest Plumbing” in Revere sometime in the early eighties. He later became the Plumbing Inspector for the City of Revere and, for the past five years, he has been the Plumbing Inspector for the Town of Saugus. He left Revere when he moved to Lynnfield 25 years ago. He was a member of the Revere Patriots Club and the Revere Businessmens Association. He was the beloved son of the late Frank J., Sr. who died on December 21, 2011 and the late Barbara (Miles) Misiano; cherished brother of Barbara A. DeRosa and her husband, Andrew and Diane Misiano, all of Revere and the late Stanley D. Misiano; devoted uncle to Danielle M. and Mariah L. DeRosa and Bianca V.S. Misiano, all of Revere, Stanley D. Misiano, Jr. and Marissa Misiano, both of Wakefield and is also lovingly survived by his sister-in-law, Maria Misiano of Wakefield.

Donald Crawford of Revere, formerly of New York City, died on February 2.

A set designer for many theaters around the USA, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of WorldWar II and a D Day survivor.

Joseph Michael Chaput

Worked at Curuoflite Stairs and Dick’s Cafe

Joseph Michael Chaput of Wakefield, formerly of Beachmont and Chelsea, died on February 16 at the Wakefield Care and Rehabilitation Center after a courageous 19 month battle with cancer.

Born in Chelsea, he lived in Chelsea for 37 years before moving to the Beachmont section of Revere. He was a graduate of the Northeast Vocational High School and was employed as an interior mill worker for Curuoflite Stairs on Spencer Avenue in Chelsea and also worked as a bartender at Dick’s Cafe in Cary Square.

He was the devoted companion of Beth Fronczak of Chelsea; son of the late Arthur and Mildred (Bonds) Chaput; beloved brother of Francine Chaput, A. Paul Chaput and his wife, Carol Forte, Edward G. Chaput and James Chaput and his wife, Cynthia Peach, all of Wakefield, William S. Chaput and wife Danielle of Tewksbury and John Chaput and his wife, Maria of Wakefield. He is also lovingly survived by his son, Grant Tame and two grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Albert A. Pagliarulo died at his Revere home on February 18. He was 90 years old.

A cableman for New England Tel & Tel, he was a US Army veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion and the International Brotherhood of Telephone Workers.

He was the son of the late John and Assunta (Cerone) Pagliarulo; beloved husband of Theresa (Lionetti); devoted father of Agnes P. Trabucco and her husband, Michael of Wakefield and Mary J. Pagliarulo of Revere; loving grandfather of Alana Trabucco of Wakefield; dear brother of the late Melina Belmonte, Luciano and Pasquale Pagliarulo and is also survived by his brother in-law, Augustino Belmonte of Melrose and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Maureen Ostrowski

Mary Maureen Ostrowski of Limington, Maine, formerly of Revere, died at home on February 17. She was 61 years old.

She was born in Grangemouth, Scotland on Jan. 22, 1951, a daughter of the late John and Isabella (Kennedy) Barry.When she was 12 years old, she moved from Scotland to Massachusetts and graduated from High School in Revere.

Mrs. Ostrowski has always been involved with her children in their schooling and was a library aide at Baxter Elementary School.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, Suduko, and baking; however, spending time with her family, especially her grandson Connor, was what was most special to her.

Recently, she was involved with a knitting club that met weekly at Panera Bread.She is survived by her beloved husband, Daniel Ostrowski; a daughter, Kristen Bouchard and her husband, Anthony, and their son, Connor of South Portland; a son, Paul Ostrowski and his wife, Melissa of South Portland; her siblings: Nora and Andrew of Scotland, a nephew, Stephen Graham and his wife, Marianne and their son, Jonathan of Beverly and many dear friends.

A retired cook who worked at the Annemark Nursing Home and the Oak Island Nursing Home, he was the beloved friend of Margaret “Peggy” Tracia and her late husband, Anthony of Revere; loving surrogate father of John Tracia and his wife, Audrey of Weymouth, Cheryl Sullivan and her husband, Robert of Peabody, Margaret Cravotta and her husband, David of Peabody, Carla Ligocki and her husband, Genaro of Revere, Patrice Schrimpf and her husband, Andrew of Peabody and Stephen Tracia of Revere; dear brother of Helen Bell, Susie DioJuardi, Rosie Cannata and the late Mary Mulchay, Josephine Dinuvlia, Angelo, Ralph and Larry Falzarano. Leo Wiltshire

Mailman and School Crossing Guard

Leo F. Wiltshire, of Danvers and Surprise, Arizona died at home after a long illness. He was 83 years old.

Born in Lynn, the son of the late John and Vera (Monck) Wiltshire, he was a lifelong resident of Swampscott until moving to Surprise, Arizona in 2000. He was a graduate of St. John the Evangelist School, attended St. Mary’s High School and received his diploma from Swampscott High School, Class of 1948.

He worked for the United States Postal Service in Swampscott as a letter carrier for 26 years before retiring in 1993. He was known by many as “Leo the Mailman.” After retiring, he was a school crossing guard for the Lynn Police Department where he enjoyed keeping the children safe. He crossed children at Lewis St. and Lafayette Park and Western Ave. and Bay View Ave. He previously worked in the meat department of the former First National Store in Wyoma Square.

He enlisted in the US Coast Guard on his 17th birthday near the end of World War II. He served aboard the Wachusett near Attu with a base in Juneau, AK and held the rank of Seaman First Class. He was recalled into the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and served aboard the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. WASP CV-18, where he was a Plankowner. Leo was proud to serve and was always ready with a handshake for anyone in military uniform.

He was a lifetime member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch 7, Lynn. He was a former longtime communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Swampscott before moving to Arizona. He was a former member of the VFW Post 1240 Swampscott, Knights of Columbus in Swampscott, the Swampscott Club, the USS WASP Veterans Association and the Gerry 5 in Marblehead. Leo and Kay enjoyed traveling to many State and National Parks, Eastern and Western Canada and cruised the Panama Canal, Alaska and Hawaii. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and working in his garden.The beloved husband of Katherine “Kay” (Hurley) Wiltshire with whom he shared 53 years of marriage; the couple was married in St. Pius V Church in Lynn.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Leo F. Wiltshire, Jr. and his wife, Eileen of Virginia Beach and Joseph M. Wiltshire and his wife, Jacqueline of Rockville, MD, one daughter, Margaret “Peggy” A. Dorson and her fiancé, Ray Abbott, of Peterborough, NH; four sisters, Paula Sentipal of Annandale, VA, Sheila Forrest of Lynn, Vera Cragin of Tacoma, WA and Ella Mailloux of Revere. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Amy Powell and her husband, Michael, Arielle Dorson, Christina and Sydney Wiltshire.

Anna M. (Oliveri) Aiello of Peabody, formerly of Revere and Everett, died on February 18.

Roberta A. O’Brien, a lifelong resident of Revere, died on February 15 at the Spaulding Hospital-Cambridge. She was 55 years old.

Former VP of Operations at New-Fed Mortgage

MaryEllen T. (DiRosa) Lucia of Revere died on February 20. She was 49 years old.

A graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1980 and the former Vice President of Operations at New-Fed Mortgage, she was the devoted mother of Brian and Michael Lucia, the beloved daughter of Susie (DeSisto) DiRosa and the late Pasquale “Tony”; dear sister of Suzanne DiRosa of Danvers; loving stepmother of Gary Jr. of Maine and Sara Lucia of Washington She is also survived by her former husband, Gary Lucia of Medford and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere on Friday, February 24 at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Adelle M. (Wlodyka) Zebrowski of Revere, formerly of West Newton and Chelsea, died on February 19.

A US Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Waves National, Unit 17, Old Ironsides, she was the beloved wife of the late Stanley J. Zebrowski; loving daughter of the late Gregory and Beatrice Wlodyka; dear sister of Janet Wlodyka of Revere, the late Josephine “Jody” Wlodyka, Pauline Wojciechowski, Rev. Stanley Wlodyka O.F.M. Conv. and Henry J. Wlodyka; beloved aunt of Thomas and Dolly Wlodyka of Scituate, Thomas Kowalewski of Winthrop and the late Linda A. Kowalewski and cherished great aunt of Leslie Ann Delisle of Roslindale, Amy Beth McLaughlin of Rockland and Ross Thomas of Scituate. Her Funeral will be held from the Frank A. Kathleen (Sullivan) Nicewicz of Revere died on February 19. She was 96 years old.

The wife of the late Stanley Nicewicz, she was the mother of Linda Moniz of Manchester, NH, Rosalie DeSalvo of Chelmsford, John Nicewicz of Tuftonboro, NH and the late Barbara Kiley; sister of Ann Spicer and Peg Bartlett of Westford, John Sullivan of Rowley, Paul Sullivan of Arlington, Richard Sullivan of Middleboro, and the late Ewart “Bud” Sullivan; she also leaves 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Angelina M. (Goglia) Coviello of Peabody, formerly of Revere and East Boston, died on February 20.

She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Coviello with whom she shared 49 years of marriage loving mother of James Coviello and his wife, Carol, of Wakefield, Rosemary Ardagna and her husband, George of Wakefield, Carmen Coviello and his wife, Deborah of North Andover, Antonia Ciampa and her husband, Mark of Medford and Angela Romano and her husband, Michael of Peabody; dear sister of the late Rosemarie Bottaro and Josephine “Dolly” La Monica; cherished grandmother of 10 and great grandmother of six.

Her Funeral will be held from Vazza’s “Beechwood” Funeral Hoome, 262 Beach Street, Revere  Saturday morning followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. mary of the Assumption Church, Washington Avenue, Revere.
