The Revere High girls tennis team dropped two matches last week, coming out on the short end of decisions to perennial Northeastern Conference power Swampscott and Lynn Classical.
In the Classical match, the absence of some of the regular Lady Patriots forced RHS head coach Carla Maniscalco to mix up her lineup. Nancy Nguyen moved up to first singles from her usual third slot, while Karen Chan and Mounia El-Arar, who typically play at first doubles, took over at second and third singles respectively.
Mei Ling Theng and Mariah Rivera moved up to first doubles from their usual second doubles positions. Samantha Harris and Jenny Philemond played at second doubles, with the match marking Philemond’s first varsity contest.
Maniscalco and her squad were scheduled to play Winthrop this past Monday and yesterday (Tuesday) and at Lynn English today, at Salem next Monday, and at Saugus next Wednesday.
