Field hockey team drops season opener

Although the Revere High field hockey team dropped its season opener by a 7-0 margin last Wednesday at Marblehead, a perennially strong team in the Northeastern Conference, RHS head coach Maureen Flynn saw a lot of good things that bode well for the coming season.

“The team played well,” said Flynn. “We have a lot of new players and they all looked like they were learning the sport well. For a first game against one of the top teams from last year they did a great job overall.”

Flynn and her crew were back in action yesterday (Tuesday) against Saugus and will travel to Swampscott tomorrow. The Lady Patriots are back home Monday to host Gloucester.
