Revere’s new city clerk is Ashley Melnik.
Having already worked for years as an assistant city clerk, she is eminently qualified to succeed John Henry.
Henry, it should be pointed out, served for decades with honor as the city clerk. He made the job in many ways what it has come to be — considered one of the most important departments at city hall.
Now Melnik has the opportunity to carry on where Henry left off in continuing the tradition of running her city hall department as efficiently as her predecessor.
We know her to be quiet, competent, honest and diligent.
She brings a solid work ethic to the position.
