Jewelry Box Owner says Thanks

Tommy Yourawski has finally retired, and he has sold his Broadway shop, The Jewelry Box. Now, he’s content to sit back and relax.

For 40 years he was the go-to guy for all your jewelry needs, and he’s appreciative for all the customers that he’s had over the years. His customers have come from referrals, word of mouth and having the right jewelry at the right price.

“I’ve had a great run,” he said, adding he has always loved to give back through the Chamber of Commerce, Broadway Redevelopment Committee, the Revere Beach Advisory Committee and the local Little League.

In the beginning he first sold televisions and he admits he sold a lot of gold chains and charms in the 1980s and 1990s.

A month ago Yourawski sold his building at 345 Broadway and plans to launch into retirement traveling to visit friends and families.

“I’ve had an enjoyable career. I’ve been working before high school,” Yourawski said. “I just want to thank everyone for their confidence, overwhelming support. It’s been an honor to service all my customers with their jewelry needs.”

He said the key to his longevity in the business has been staying ahead of the styles, going to jewelry conventions and making sure his customers were satisfied.

“I like to say that I sold every girl her diamond,” Yourawski said.
