Transition Team Plans Its First Meeting

Mayor-elect Dan Rizzo visits with Boston Mayor Tom Menino during a New Mayor’s Seminar held last week at the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government’s Institute of Politics. This week, Rizzo is set to begin Transition Team meetings, with several other meetings occurring during the holidays.

The Rizzo Administration began easing its way into City Hall Tuesday night, December 6, with its first Transition Team meeting held at the Council Chambers and open to the public.

The meeting was expected to last at least 90 minutes and is in the spirit of full transparency within the new administration – which will officially take office in January.

A release sent to the media indicated that more than 30 policy experts, business leaders, elected officials and community leaders have sat together to identify, document and create a vision for Mayor-elect Dan Rizzo’s first term.

Also announced were members of Rizzo’s Transition Team, which include Suffolk County Sheriff Andrea Cabral, Attorney Ed Principe, East Boston Neighborhood Health Center CEO Manny Lopes, Immigration lawyer Sue O’Brien, State Rep. Kathi-Anne Reinstein, State Sen. Anthony Petruccelli and newly elected City Councillors Brian Arrigo and Jessica Giannino.
