Field hockey team drops three

The Revere High field hockey team is looking for its first win of the season after three losses this week to Northeastern Conference opponents Saugus, Swampscott, and Gloucester.

The Lady Patriots showed a lot of promise in their contest with Gloucester on Monday, battling the Lady Fishermen to a scoreless 0-0 duel through the first half before Gloucester scored twice after the intermission to come away with the 2-0 victory.

“The team played really well, especially our defense,” said RHS head coach Maureen Flynn. “The girls are working hard and improving with every game.”

In a 7-0 loss to Saugus last week, Revere goalie Briana Scata turned in a phenomenal effort with 35 saves. A 5-0 loss to Swampscott was aided by three goals on penalty corners by Swampscott.

Flynn and her crew hit the road with games at Salem today (Wednesday), at Everett Friday; and at Beverly on Tuesday.
