Track team falls to Salem

Souhil Arachiche and Bobby Driscoll were the winners for the Revere High boys track team in their meet against Salem last week.

Arachiche, who still is on the mend from an ankle injury, nonetheless sped to victory in the 200 meter dash in a time of 23.8 seconds. Souhil also earned single points for Coach Jack Mosko’s squad with third places in the 100 dash in 12.1 and in the long jump with a leap of 17 feet.

Driscoll led a Revere sweep in the mile event with a clocking of 5:27.1 Bobby was followed by teammates Brahim Rahzi in 5:27.3 and Anthony Cantone Heinz 5:34.

For Rahzi, the mile was one of his three second place finishes on the day to give him a team high nine points. Brahim took second in the 400 meter run in 55.0 and second in the triple jump with a landing of 38-0.

Vin DiChiara was another multi-event scorer with a second in the high jump with a leap of 5-2; a third in the 100 high hurdles in 18.7; and a third in the javelin with a throw of 114-0.

Other second place finishers for the Patriots were Ernesto Bonilla in the two mile in 11:44; Tom Sena with a discus toss of 97-0; and Chris Panzini in the 800 in 2:16.8, an effort that Mosko labeled as “Chris’s best race ever.”

Mike Fitzpatrick added points in two events with thirds in the 400 low hurdles in 68.1 and the 800 in 2:27. Rawlings Toglon finished third in the 400 in 58.0; Brian Collins snared third in the two mile in 11:56; and Brian Murphy took third in the shotput with a heave of 30-0.

Mosko and his crew will meet Beverly tomorrow (Thursday).
