Reach the Beach worship event returns in August

The First Congregational Church’s Reach the Beach outreach week will run this year from Monday, August 12 through Friday, August 17 next to the Bandstand on Revere Beach.

Reach the Beach is  a weeklong attempt to spread the Good News at Revere Beach, the first public beach in America. For the entire week, participants  will be on the beach witnessing, handing out tracts, doing servant evangelism, according to the organizers.

Each day’s events and activities will begin at noon and run until 9 p.m.

There are a number of organizing and fundraising events taking place at the First Congregational Church at 230 Beach St. in the month of July.

The initial get together is on July 12 at the church, where the organizers are looking for feedback on the 2023 event and talking about plans for the 2024 Reach the Beach event. Pizza and salad will be served, and anyone who is planning to attend is asked to RSVP at [email protected].

Last year, Reach the Beach volunteers handed out 3,000 pieces of literature, two cases of English-language bibles, one case of Spanish-language bibles, one case of Arabic-language bibles, and a healthy amount of free water, coffee, snacks, and pastries. Event organizers stated that there will also be music, drama, and other events to draw people to their tables with the goal of speaking with them about the gospel and praying.

There are also upcoming fundraisers for Reach the Beach, including a Worship Night on July 13 and a Pizza Night Silent Auction on July 20. Reach the Beach’s new website is rtbrevere.com.
