Revere High Softball Celebrates 2023 Season

The Revere High Softball team celebrated their season with an annual banquet at Prince Pizza hosted by the Parents’ Club. The program, which is  mainly undersclassmen, saw an improvement this season under second year head Coach Meg O’Donnell.

The varsity team went 7-13 missing the state tournament by three games including several losses by one or two runs. O’Donnell, Assistant Coach Powers, and Team Assistant Peter DiCarlo saw much progress throughout the season. “This season was a learning curve but was also a fun one. We grew as a team and next season we will be a sleeper team in the GBL”, said O’Donnell of her young squad.

The team was led by senior captains Emma Casinello and Arianna Greenman, who will attend Emmanuel College and Salem State University in the fall. In addition, juniors Isabella Qualtieri, Ally Straccia, Riley Straccia, Julianna Bolton and Luiza Santos,  Sophmores Lea Doucette, Jordan Martelli, Kelren Dais, and Brianna MIranda and freshmen Myla Cassinell, Frankie Reed, Shayna Smith, and Danni Hope Randall who earned varsity positions in their first year with the program.

Several of the Lady Pats were recognized this season. Emma Cassinello and Riley Straccia were named GBL all-stars. Team honors included MVP Lea Doucette, Offensive MVP Frankie Reed, Defensive MVP Riley Straccia, Most Improved Player Jordan Martelli, Rookie of the Year Danni Hope Randall, and Coaches Award Emma Cassinnello.

The Lady Pats will return to the field next season led by newly named Captains Isabella Qualtieri, Ally Straccia, Riley Straccia, Julianna, and Luiza Santos who will all be members of the 2024 graduating class of Revere High School.
