Geraldine A. (Kelliher) O’Connor of Florida, formerly of Arlington, died on October 26.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph O’Connor; loving mother of John J. O’Connor of Florida; dear sister of the late Jack Kelliher, Eleanor Kelliher, Joan Gallagher, Marilyn Moyer, and Elaine Coleman and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral will be held from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., (Rt. 60, adjacent to St. Agnes Church) Arlington on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Agnes Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Rita M. (Bradley) Dente of Chelsea died on October 26.

Peter Mitchell, Sr.

Past member of Teamsters Local 82

Peter J. Mitchell, Sr. of Malden, formerly of Dorchester, died suddenly on October 26.

A past member of Teamsters Local 82, he was the devoted father of Peter J., Jr. of Everett and Jon Paul and his wife, Christine of Wakefield; loving son of the late John and Bernice (Doogan) Mitchell; doting and beloved grandfather of Gina and Nadia Mitchell and  brother of Denise.

Mary Carson

Of Saugus, formerly of Chelsea

Mary E. (Carson) Adams, a former Chelsea resident, passed away in her Saugus home surrounded by her loving family on October 20 following a courageous battle with an overwhelming illness. She was 79 years old.

Born in Berlin, NH, the daughter of the late Edward J. and Eleanor (Biledeau) Carson, she was educated in Berlin, NH schools, married George R. Adams and together they raised their family spending time living in both Chelsea and Revere. She relocated to Ocala, Florida and lived there for 28 years. After returning from Florida, she took residence with her family in Saugus. She worked for many years as a fish slicer and scaler in a former fish market located in Chelsea.

After sharing 55 years of marriage, she was predeceased by her beloved husband George in 2008. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed frequent vacations with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed ceramics and playing bingo.

She was the beloved wife of the late George R. Adams; devoted mother of Cheryl Constantino and her husband, Joseph, Dean Adams, his late wife Leona, and Michelle Sandry, all of Saugus and Susan Clements of Ocala FL; dear sister of Lorraine Dunn and Raymond Carson, both of Revere, Henry Carson of Chelsea, Linda Richardson of Saugus, Judith Mucci of Revere, Gail Giammanco of Ocala, FL and the late Clarence Carson and Irene McKay. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral  Services were conducted at the Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, October 25 with Rev. Edgar A. Gutiérrez-Duarte officiating. Lawrence ‘Bunker’ Denish

Longtime Monsanto Employee

Lawrence E. “Bunker” Denish, a lifelong resident of Everett, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 25. He was 87 years old.

Mr. Denish was born June 17, 1925 in Everett, one of five children of the late Lawrence L. and Marie F. (Green) Denish. He was raised in Everett and proudly served his country in the US Navy during World War II.

Lovingly known as “Bunker,” he was a member of the DAV Chapter 51 in Everett, and the Everett Elks Club. For many years, he worked at the Monsanto Chemical Company in Everett. He was devoted to his family and a faithful parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church where he served as an usher for many years. He will be remembered for his love of bowling, especially with his beloved family and friends.

He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara T. (Faucher) Denish with whom he shared 56 years of marriage; devoted father of Lawrence L. Denish and his wife, JoEllen of Everett, John F. Denish of Pittsburgh, PA, Kathleen A. Mattei and her late husband, Pasquale “Rick” Mattei of Littleton, NH, Francis W. Denish of Everett, Margaret C. Lever and her husband, Harvey of Everett, Marie A. Hidden and her late husband, Bruce Hidden of Revere, William G. Denish and his wife, Gail of Everett, Joseph R. Denish and his wife, Beth of Peabody, Paul E. Denish of Medford, Barbara E. Rawcliffe of Saugus, Elizabeth A. Murphy and her husband,  Paul of Everett, and Mary T. Denish of Everett; dear brother of Shirley Moore, Catherine Gibbons and Harold Mayo, all of Everett, and Richard Mayo of N. Reading, he was the loving grandfather of the late Julie M. Lever and is also survived by 34 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the Robinson Funeral Home, Melrose. Burial with military honors by the US Navy was in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.

Filippo Bulla of Revere died on October 25.

He was the beloved  husband of Maria (Talluto) Bulla; devoted father of Alessandro Bulla and his wife, Cheryl of Revere, Joseph Bulla and his wife, Ursula of Malden, Robert Bulla and Kerri Ann Marden of Revere; loving  grandfather of Philip, Ariana, Alexandra and Stella Bulla; dear brother of the late Alessandro and Lina Bulla; cherished son in law of Filippa Talluto and her late husband, Joseph of East Boston and is also survived by many adored brothers and sisters in law as well as nieces and nephews. Longtime Revere School Lunch Lady

Jennie J. (Liotta) of Melrose, formerly of Revere, died unexpectedly on October 25 at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital.  She was 86 years old.

Born in Everett and a longtime resident of Revere before moving to Melrose seven years ago, she was a homemaker and a longtime Lunch Lady who retired from the Revere Public Schools after many years of service. She enjoyed bicycling, Yoga, board games (especially scrabble), reading, walking and was a self-taught master chef.

She was the beloved wife of the late Peter J. Cacciola; dear and devoted mother of Peter J. Cacciola, Jr. and his wife, Paula of Medford, Annette Lento and her husband, Nicholas of Melrose and Paul Cacciola and his wife, Sharon of Saugus; sister of Catherine “Kay” White of Watertown, Millie Liotta of Melrose and the late Joseph Liotta, Domenic “Nick” Liotta, Connie DeNucce and Mary Liotta; loving “Noni” of Michael, Mark, Stephen, David, Daniel and Serena Cacciola, Nicholas, Peter, Rene and Joseph Lento.

Sabatino ‘Ben’ Marcucci

Owned Ben’s Auto Body in East Boston

Sabatino “Ben” Marcucci of Winthrop died on October 24. He was 84 years old.

Ben, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, was the late owner of Ben’s Auto Body in East Boston and a late member of the Winthrop Golf Club and the Beachmont VFW.

He was the beloved husband of Irene T. (Romano) Marcucci; loving father of Michele Wilson and her husband, Robert of Winthrop and the late Michael Marcucci; dear brother of Umberto “Bert” Marcucci and his wife, Jean, Angela LeBlanc and her husband, Arthur all of Kennebunk, ME and the late Camille DiRuzza. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Paul ‘Paulie Boy’ Balliro, Sr.

Of Florida, formerly of Revere

Paul “Pauly Boy”Balliro Sr. of Boca Raton, Florida, formerly of Revere, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on September 21 after a long and courageous struggle with cancer.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years “JoJo” (Drummey); his loving sons, Joseph, Paul, Jr. and Jeffrey and three grandsons, four granddaughters and one great granddaughter. He was the loving son of Antoinette (Agresti) Balliro and the late Joseph Pius Balliro; brother of Charles (Charlieboy) Lucille, Fawn and Daveen.

The memories we all share of Pauly Boy will truly be treasured always and forever.

Dominic Cerulli

Journalist

Dominic Cerulli of Ossining, New York passed away at the Phelps Memorial Hospital in Tarrytown, New York on October 23 after a long illness. He was 85 years old.

He enlisted in the US Navy during World War II and upon his discharge went on to become a reporter for UPI in Boston, covering local news. He worked as a reporter and freelance cartoonist for the Boston Globe for several years and then went on to work for, Downbeat Magazine, Warner Bros. Records, RCA records, Columbia Records and Reader’s Digest. After leaving Reader’s Digest, he became the Vice President/Creative director for Glolier Enterprises where he created Direct Mail for books, book clubs and catalogs. He also wrote music related articles for Playboy, Show Business Illustrated, Roque, Monsieur and International Musician and a Freelance Creative Director for the Franklin Mint, Colonial Penn Life Insurance Co., Music For Your Life, Cancer Care Hume Publishing and others.

Born in East Boston, he was the beloved son of the late Rose (Muto) and Ralph F. Cerulli.
He was the devoted husband of Dolores (Costa) and the loving father of Mark Cerulli and his wife, Sandra and Garrett Cerulli and his wife, Susanna and the cherished grandfather of Erik. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Frank ‘Frankie’ Ross Toscano

One of the North End’s Favorite Sons

Frank “Frankie” Ross Toscano of Seabrook, NH, formerly of Boston’s North End, died on October 22. He was 90 years old.

One of the North End favorite sons who was a 2004 Inductee into the W.V.B.A. Ring Four Boston Hall of Fame with over 368 amateur and pro fights, he was a loyal and longtime friend of Seabrook Greyhound Park and Seabrook Poker Room.

He was the beloved husband of 36 years to his loving and devoted wife Diana (Ellis); father of Frank and his wife, Josephine of Boston, Diane Paparo of Stoneham, Valerie Kean and her husband, Gerald of Medford, Michael of Boca Raton, Florida, Cheryl Spagnola and Louis Spagnola, both of Revere, and the late Debbie Spagnola. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Daniel, Frank, Derek, David, Rosemary, Gerald, Jason, Jessica, Nick, Jeannie, Gianna and Michael, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Debra Morabito

Wife of The Former Owner of Art Tone Studio, Revere

Debra (Braccia) Morabito, 7/12/54-10/23/12, the wife of the former owner of Art Tone Studio in Revere,  has lost her long battle with ovarian cancer.

She was diagnosed on Tuesday, January 20, 2009.  She courageously battled her disease until succumbing on October 23 at 4:55 p.m. at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center in Revere, the very place she was employed until the day she was diagnosed.

She passed away quietly surrounded by family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard Morabito of Revere, her brother, Michael Braccia of East Boston, and her daughter,Amanda Morabito of Revere, and by many relatives and friends.

Carmine Bruno

Past Commander of VFW-Mottollo Post, Past All-State VFW Commander

Carmine A. Bruno, a lifelong resident of Revere, died after a long illness at the home of his son, David, in Billerica on October 23. He was 85 years old.

Born in Boston and a 1945 graduate of Revere High School, he spent most of his working career  as a truck driver, driving for private utilities. He then worked as a bartender.

He served with the US Marines during World War II from June of 1945 until June of 1949 as a Private First Class – Rifleman. He was a life member of the VFW-Mottollo Post #4524 and served as Commander from 1975 to 1976 and All State Commander of the VFW from 1977 to 1979. He was also a long time member of the “China Marine Association-USA.”

The beloved husband of 53 years of Bella P. (Karelas) Bruno, he was the devoted father of Janet Messina and her husband, David of Byfield, Karen Quinteros and her husband, Edward of San Antonio, Texas, Joseph A. Bruno and his wife, Mary and Margaret “Peggy” Fallon and her husband, Daniel, all of Lynnfield, Stephen S. Bruno of Boston and David C. Bruno and his wife, Maribeth of Billerica; the dear brother of Maura Ambrosino and her husband, Alphonse of Winthrop and the late Marion Cozad and her late husband, Robert. He is also lovingly survived by eight granddaughters, three great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth F. Sirignano of Winthrop  passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital on October 28. She was 88 years old.

The beloved wife of the late Albert A. Sirignano, she was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Max and Mildred (Mosher) Goldberg; devoted mother of Lois O’Connell and her husband, John “Jack” of Winthrop and the late Kristina Dolloff of Wakefield; adored grandmother of Richard Oliver Jr. of Revere, Liza Vaughn of Wakefield, and Alanna O’Connell of Winthrop; cherished great-grandmother of Kenneth Vaughn Jr., Ava Vaughn, and Jake Vaughn, all of Wakefield and Dominic Oliver of Revere.

Captain Nelson “Butch” Marino

Dedicated Revere Firefighter

Captain, Nelson “Butch” Marino lost his battle with cancer on October 24.

Born and raised in East Boston he moved to Revere to raise his family and serve on the Revere Fire Department.  He was awarded several citations for bravery and service including the delivery of two babies during his years of service.  After retirement he enjoyed winters in Saint Petersburg, Florida golfing and enjoying the sunshine.

He was the proud father of Mike, Jason, Bryan and Jennifer Marino; beloved husband to Laurie Baldi Marino; loving son of Ralph and Nolene Marino; dear brother of Patti Barker, Terry Southwick and Dorene Clark; proud “Papa” to Isabelle and Lila Marino and loving ‘Grampy” to Kevin Marino.

A Celebration of Life and Memorial service for Captain Marino will be held on Saturday, November 3 at St. Paul Episcopal Church, 26 Washington Street, Malden.  You may pay respects during the memorial service which will take place in the church from 9 to 11:45 a.m.  The Funeral Mass will follow at 12 noon.
