RHS girls tennis drops close match

The Revere High girls tennis team dropped a close match to Lynn Classical, 3-2, last week.

Yvonne Rincon and the Lady Patriot first doubles duo of Jennifer Kingston and Donna Le won their matches to account for Revere’s two points.

Elma Meskovic, playing at first singles, dropped her match by the narrowest of margins, 6-7 (in a tiebreaker), 6-1, and 5-7. Second singles Victoria Mauro and the second doubles tandem of Samantha Harris and Cristina DeFabio also were unsuccessful.

The Lady Patriots next played Beverly, but were unable to win a point. Still, RHS head coach Carla Maniscalco has been pleased with her team’s effort thus far this season.

“The girls are working hard and getting stronger,” said Maniscalco. “But we need to continue to work hard to bring our game to a higher level.”

Maniscalco’s crew hit the road this week for matches at Lynn English yesterday (Tuesday), Peabody today, and Gloucester Friday.
