The Yawkey Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2023 Induction Ceremony

Revere true baseball fans are very familiar with the Yawkey Baseball League, founded by Dave McKay. Many fathers and sons who have the calling to play after high school have taken part in this exciting league.

Recently the Yawkey Baseball League hosted their Hall of Fame Awards Dinner at the Common Market Restaurant in Quincy for the Class of 2023. Following a buffet lunch, the inductees were called up and received the recognition they deserved as ballplayers and teammates.

Coach John “Smokey” Moore of Revere was one of the inductees. John has been an inspiring leader for dozens of young men, playing a sport they love. Named Coach of the Year in 2018. His leadership brought a club from a 3-win season to a Semi-final contender. Moore has also created a 500-dollar scholarship in honor of his father Tim Moore, to be given each year to a local player. “Smokey” has also organized a baseball game to be played to support Toys for Tots. John has many times over proven to be an exemplarity choice for the Yawkey Baseball Hall of Fame.

AJ “Booch” Bucciarelli, player/coach for the Revere Rockies. A 15-year career with one team, the Revere Rockies, considered one of the best second basemen in the league, and a 7-time all-star. “Booch” was part of more that 200 wins, and 8, 20-win seasons with the Revere Rockies, with a career .331 average, having 184 runs and 94 RBIs to his credit. For his outstanding abilities as a dedicated teammate, and his outstanding coaching abilities AJ “Booch” Bucciarelli was the perfect inductee for the Yawkey Baseball Hall of Fame.
