Curtis Marchand

Retired Revere Fire Captain

Ret. RFD Curtis Marchand of Revere passed away on October 5 at the age of 70. 

Born in Everett on February 19,1952 to the late Curtis and June (Olson), he is survived by his loving children, Jillian Mordarski and her husband, David of Derry, NH and Stephen Marchand and his wife, Andrea of Bosto, and their mother, Dorothy. He loved and was blessed by two beautiful grandchildren.

Curtis retired as captain of the Revere Fire Department serving 25 years.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church, 133 Beach St., Revere on Saturday, October 15 at 1 p.m.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited.   Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF www2.jdrf.org) For guest book, please visit www.buonfiglio.com.

Donald Robinson

Longtime Employee of Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett

Funeral Services were held on October 11 in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals for Donald J. “Donny” Robinson, who died on Wednesday, October 5 at the Whidden Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He would have celebrated his 87th birthday on November 14. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Donny was born and raised in Chelsea and he was educated in Chelsea Public Schools. Early on in Donny’s working career, he began driving trucks for Chelsea Restaurant Supply. He worked there for several years before leaving to take a position as a laborer at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett where he was known to many of his friends and co-workers as “Robbie.” His career spanned well over 30 years. In 1984, Donny moved to Revere where he remained.

In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas. He was also a past member of both the Chelsea Lodge of Elks #642 and the Revere Lodge of Elks #1171.

Donny was a quiet and humble man, who enjoyed fun times and his quiet times.

He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his close friends at Woodlawn Cemetery.

He was the beloved son of the late Geraldine M. (Moore) Reardon and her husband, Lawrence; loving brother of Jean M. Signorino of Revere; cherished uncle of Danielle G. Burke and her husband, Charles and their son, David P. Burke, all of Revere. He is also lovingly survived by many friends and colleagues. George Mucci

Above All Else, His Love for Family Is How He Will Be Best Remembered

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, October 15 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in Vazza’s “Beechwood” Funeral Home, 262 Beach St., Revere for George C. Mucci, who died on Wednesday, October 5 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Facility in Worcester following a long illness. He was 85 years old. A funeral will be celebrated following the visitation at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere. Interment with Military Honors will immediately follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park.

George was born on January 2, 1937 to his late parents, Carmen and Laura A. (Gaglini) Mucci. One of five children, he was raised and educated in East Boston and was a graduate of Boston English High School, Class of 1955.

George enlisted in the United States Army in 1955 and proudly served his country until 1957. While he served in the U.S. Army, he graduated first in his class at radio school, and was stationed in Japan as a Radio Operator.

George returned home and began to work at Retail Credit for several years. He later began a career for Logan Equipment Corp. that spanned 30 years. George proudly retired as the Treasurer & CFO of the firm. George married his wife, Joan (MacKenzie) on September 11, 1965. The couple lived in East Boston, Revere, Shrewsbury and then settling back in Revere in 1999.

George was a loving and devoted family man and worked hard to provide for them. He attended Wentworth Institute for Plan Reading and Estimating and Bentley College for Accounting, with honors, while working full time. George was also a member of Progressive Club, St. Vincent De Paul Society and East Boston Rotary, serving two terms as Rotary President. He volunteered and served as President of Noddle Island Multi-Service Agency (NIMSA), a Drug Rehabilitation Program in East Boston. When NIMSA was threatened with closure, he negotiated a merger with North Suffolk Mental Health in order to continue operations. During Governor King’s Administration, he served as Chairman of the South Essex Sewerage District. Above all else his love for his family is how he will be best remembered.

The devoted husband of 57 years to Joan C. Mucci of Revere, he was the loving father of David P. Mucci and his wife, Sharon M. of Pepperell and the late George Christopher Mucci; the cherished and proud papa to Christopher J. Mucci and Emily R. Mucci, both of Pepperell; the treasured brother of Camille Selvitella of Winthrop, Joseph Mucci and his wife, Elaine of Laconia, NH and the late Marie Mucci – O’Shea and Rev. Fr. Flavian, O.F.M. He is also lovingly survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Agape c/o David P. Francis Schroeder, Jr.

Devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather

Family and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Thursday, October 13 from 4 to 8 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) Revere for Francis B. “Frank” Schroeder, Jr., 78, who passed away on October 6.

Born in Boston, the son of the late Francis B., Sr. and Emma L. (Ittner) Schroeder, he attended Boston schools and was a 1962 graduate of B.C. High. He entered college to continue his education, but only after a year, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. His service in the military spanned four years and, while abroad, he learned to speak Russian. Frank utilized his new skills and served as an interpreter, intercepting and translating Russian intelligence for the United States armed forces. He was honorably discharged in 1968, returned home, enrolled in Boston State College and achieved his bachelor’s degree.

He married Patricia A. (Phelen) and the couple began their family. They eventually settled in Revere and have been Revere residents for 41 years.

Frank worked for many years for Cigna Corporation and finished his career, working as the Operations Manager for Best Buy, a career he excelled at due to his outgoing and warm personality.

Frank was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who worked hard to support his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family and together he and his wife shared 44 years of marriage.

He was the devoted husband to Patricia A. (Phelan) Schroeder of Revere, beloved father of Francis B. Schroeder, III and his wife, Tiffany of Cummings, GA and Kathleen Schroeder and her partner, Kristen O’Neill of Revere; cherished grandfather of Lillian C. and Jack N. Schroeder; dear brother of Daniel P. Schroeder of Hudson, adored brother-in-law of Pamela A. Sullivan and her husband, John “Sully” of West Roxbury and Judy Antonelli of Allston. He is also lovingly survived by his nephew and his three nieces.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Midha and Dr. Ma along with the staff at Melrose Wakefield Hospital.
