RHS Football Team Motors Past Somerville, 44-6

The Revere High football team took control early and cruised to a 44-6 victory over Somerville on Senior Night at Harry Della Russo Stadium.

There were big plays all around, but quarterback Anwar Marbouh’s 52-yard touchdown pass to Sami El Asri on a slant pattern and junior linebacker Domenic Boudreau’s 32-yard Pick-6 (see related story) topped the list of Revere highlights.

Mark Marchese opened the scoring on Revere’s first possession with a 21-yard touchdown run before Davi Barreto rushed for the two-point conversion.

Barreto added a one-yard run and two-point conversion to make it 16-0. Marbough then split two defenders with a pass to El Asri, who sprinted past Somerville defenders to the end zone.

El Asri scored from 25 yards out on an end-around, receiving some excellent blocking on the way to the end zone. Barreto struck again on a two-pointer for a 30-0 lead.

Boudreau made the defensive play of the game when he picked off a pass at the 32-yard line and returned it to the end zone.

Senior Sylis Davis scored on a 3-yard run to make it an extra special Senior Night for the Class of 2022.

“A lot of players had big games, and offensive line was opening up holes and getting a push forward off the line of scrimmage,” said Revere head coach Lou Cicatelli. Revere (5-2) plays Lynn Classical Friday at 5 p.m. at Manning Field.
