Farmers Market Opens July 6

The Revere Farmer’s Market returns to the American Legion lawn, 249 Broadway, this Friday, July 6 with 15 vendors, with products ranging from fresh produce to artisan goods to specialty prepared food, entertainment and more.

The market is open from 12 – 4:30 p.m. every Friday from July 6 to Oct. 5.

This year’s market manager Britney Sao comes from Revere High School where she will be a senior this coming fall. She has been active in the farmer’s in past years and has served on the Youth Health Leadership Council started three years ago in the city’s Healthy Community Initiatives department.

Vendors this year include END Bakery, Chocolaffee, GuacEstrada, Acquired Tastes, Farmer Dave’s, Mann’s Garden Center, Moonlight Farm, Hervor Soaps, Revere Beach Merchants, Sleeping Star, Color Street, Mad Spice Co. & YL Essential Oils, Coquito Casa Lola, and Lanni’s Orchard.

“I like the fresh produce and that it’s available to everyone in the community,” Sao said, adding that she’s been advocating for the market through social media, by having friends put up flyers around the city. Providing live music has also been a way to attract customers.

“We have a ton of new vendors this year, a new farm has also joined us so now we have three farms,” said Dimple Rana, director of the city’s Healthy Community Initiatives department. “We also have some new entrepreneurs like GuacEstrada, Coquito Casa Lola, and spices from Madagasgar.
