RHS’s Garcia to Remain Here Next Year

By Seth Daniel

Principal Lourenco Garcia will remain the leader of Revere High School (RHS) next year, after exploring a superintendent’s position on the North Shore.

Garcia said he briefly explored the superintendent of schools position in Peabody recently, but did not choose to go any further with that process.

“No I am not leaving next year,” he said. “I explored a superintendent position with Peabody, but that was not the right fit.”

Garcia was chosen as the Revere High principal in the summer of 2010, and began his work in September 2010. He has been at his position at RHS for more than seven years, ushering in such changes as the block schedule and the flipped-learning model.
