Urania ‘Rae’ Barrasso

Miss Massachusetts of 1947

Urania “Rae” (Nickolaides) Barrasso of Revere, formerly of Malden, passed away May 25. She was 88 years old.

A former model and Miss Massachusetts of 1947, she was the Beloved wife of the late Pasquale Barrasso; dear friend and longtime companion of Vincent Conte; loving mother of Kimberly Barrasso of Revere and her extended family, Vincent Conte Jr. and his wife, Patty of Marblehead, and Donna Conte and her husband, Thomas of West Peabody; cherished grandmother of Dante Barrasso, Nicole and Julie O’Brien and Arianna and Eva Conte; sister in –law of Tony Barrasso of East Boston; dear sister of the late George Nickolaides.

Family and friends will honor Urania’s life by gathering in Vazza’s “Beechwood” Funeral Home, 262 Beach Street Revere at 9 a.m. today, Wednesday, before leaving in procession to St Anthony’s Church for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated in her name at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Maria Stasio

Of Salisbury, formerly of Revere

Maria (Malfitano) Stasio of Salisbury, formerly of Revere, died on May 29.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Domenic and Marianna (Misiano); loving wife of the late John; cherished mother of Nancy Camley and her companion, Mark Martin of Salisbury, John Stasio and his wife, Donna of Haverhill, David Stasio of Chelsea and Michael Stasio and his wife, Annmarie of North Reading; dear sister of Tina Pisani and the late Pat of Revere, Rocco Malfitano and his wife, Lorraine of Stoneham, Anthony Malfitano and his wife, Sheila of Revere and the late Vito Malfitano. Maria is also survived by 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere Street, Revere on Friday, June 3 at 8 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Parish on Friday at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Giovanni Traina

Giovanni Traina of Italy, formerly of Revere, died on May 8.

The beloved son of Guiseppa “Pina” (Turco) and Salvatore Traina of Revere, he was the adoring brother of Michelle Traina and Daniel Traina Sr., both of Revere; cherished uncle of Kaylee Traina and Daniel Traina Jr. and their mother, Amanda Biancardi of Revere; treasured grandson of Concetta Turco of Revere and the late Giovanni and Inmacolata Traina of Italy; dearest nephew of Massimo and Nancy Turco, Maurizio and Pamela Turco, Franca Turco and Stephen Powers, Alex and Jessica Turco, all of Revere, Giovanna (Traina) Bettega, Angela (Traina) Gualco, Emanuele and Silvana Traina, Gabriella (Traina) Barabino and Michela (Traina) DeTursi, all of Italy. Giovanni is also survived by 23 loving cousins and 19 great cousins. Joseph Ranaudo

W.D. Hunt Company CEO, passionate

about animal rescue

Joseph “Joe” A. Ranaudo of South Grafton, formerly of Revere, died on May 27.

He was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Mary (Cogliano); dear brother to Linda Mallery and her husband, William of Kentucky and is also survived by caring cousins and many friends.

Joe was a talented photographer, had many admirers of his work and enjoyed sharing his hobby with others. He was an avid sports fan, was passionate about animal rescue and had a fondness for cats especially. He was CEO of W.D. Hunt Company where he worked for 11 years and considered his coworkers to be a second family.

His Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio and Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere Street, Revere, today, Wednesday, June 1 at 10 a.m. followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Anthony’s Church at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Lawrence ‘Larry’ Kelley

Lawrence R. Kelley of Revere on May 26th. Beloved son of the late Stephen and Alice (Murphy). Cherished husband of Mary (Jankun). Dear father of Kayla of Boynton Beach, FL. Brother to Paul and his wife Lois of Lacey, WA and Stephen and his wife Beverly of Plymouth, MA. Cherished son-in-law to Joanne Jankun of Revere, MA. Brother-in-law to Walter Jankun and his wife Wendy of Boynton Beach, FL and sister-in-law Annette Jankun of Peabody, MA. He is also the uncle and great-uncle to by many nieces and nephews. Larry was a retired foreman of NStar and was a member of the Boston Shipping Association I.L.A Local 1066 and was also a Veteran of the US Air Force.  He enjoyed spending time with his many friends and was an avid sports fan. Carl Ferullo

Retired Everett Police Lieutenant

Carl A. Ferullo of Saugus, formerly of Revere, died on May 30.

 Carl was a lifelong member of the D.A.V. and the American Legion.  He served in the United States Navy, was a lieutenant of the Everett Police and spent 37 years as an officer.  He enjoyed his job and took pride in serving the community.

The beloved son of the late Orlando and Angelina (Tempesta), he was the husband of Carol (Morgan) of Everett; cherished father of Cindy Tuton and her husband, John “Buddy” of Everett, Tracey Boyd of Everett and the late Kenneth “Kenny” Ferullo and his wife, Mary; loving grandfather of Michael Tuton, Melissa Tuton, Richie Boyd and his wife, Stacy, Ryan Tuton and his wife, Erica, Anthony Ferullo, Kenny Ferullo Jr. and his wife, Susie, Katie Tuton, Angelina Ferullo and the late Robert “Robbie” Boyd and seven great-grandchildren; dear brother of the late Dorothy DuPont and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere Street, Revere on Monday, June 6 at 9 a.m. followed by a  Funeral Mass at St. Anthony’s Church at 10 a.m.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited.  Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.  Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
