RHS Class of ’15 Graduates Thursday

The new Harry Della Russo Stadium will open its gates for the first time this Thursday, June 4, to host the Class of 2015, which will graduate from Revere High School (RHS) in the brand new Stadium.

“I think this gives us the chance to follow through on the tradition of having graduation at the Stadium,” said Supt. Paul Dakin. “It won’t be 100 percent complete, but complete enough and safe enough to carry through and let this be the first class to graduate at the new Stadium.”

Mayor Dan Rizzo said he will be excited to be part of the ceremony, and will be excited to see the reaction from the public.

“I am obviously excited about having our first event at the new Harry Della Russo Stadium and looking forward to the reaction from all of those participating in this year’s high school graduation ceremonies,” he said. “I think it will be a great source of pride, not only for me and my administration, but for every resident in the city of Revere.”

While most of the Stadium is complete, the eastern side of the track is not complete, and the plaza area between the Hill School and the Stadium is also still under construction.

That will mean that the entrance near the school will not be open, but that those attending will be able to enter at middle gate under the bleachers.

“It’s an exciting time, but it will be more exciting when all the site work is complete and it’s all 100 percent finished,” said Dakin. “I think it will be even more exciting at the first football game next fall.”

Graduation will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 4.
