We congratulate Revere High School teacher and lifelong Revere resident Sarah Chaves on her receiving a Fulbright Scholarship.
This is a prestigious and noteworthy award for Ms. Chaves. She will use this scholarship to study in the Azores next year.
As highly regarded an achievement as being a Fulbright Scholar is, this high honor takes on even more significance for Ms. Chaves, because her father Lino’s death in a car crash in the Azores was the focus of her proposal for the scholarship.
Chaves is a graduate of Revere High School and Emerson College where studied writing. She returned to her alma mater and has been an English teacher at Revere High for three years.
And now this outstanding educator has realized one of her goals by receiving this world renowned scholarship.
Congratulations, Ms. Chaves, and we wish you well as you embark on this exciting, educational and personal journey.
