Revere Police have arrested a man on attempted murder charges after he allegedly shot up his girlfriend’s car on Bateman Street late Thursday night.

Around 11:53 p.m. police were called to the scene and found the woman inside a car that had been shot multiple times. The woman was not injured, but told police that her boyfriend had driven by in her car (which he had taken) and shot up her car.

Detectives followed up on the case and mounted surveillance campaign, and were able to locate the man on Saturday.

The men had recently met one another, and the victim had been giving the attacker rides for cash. Around 2 a.m. on March 16, the attacker called the man and asked for a ride from Chelsea.

The victim picked up the man and another man and began driving them to Revere. When they were on Bay View Road, the attacker demanded all of the victim’s money.

The attacker brandished a black firearm and his friend pulled out a large machete.

During the attack, the victim was hurt pretty badly with a blow to the head.

Police found him at the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center Clinic.

The incident remains under investigation.

POLICE STOP SOPHISTICATED CAR BREAKERS

A series of car breaks on Malden Street early last Wednesday morning, March 18, got the attention of residents and police and led to the arrest of four men who are believed to operate a sophisticated car breaking operation.

Calls came in around 1:30 a.m. for several men breaking car windows near DeMaino’s. The men were in a minivan, and police soon located them.

Police noted that the minivan had been stolen, but had also been customized with the rear seat missing. Police believe that the men were after large items, hence the removal of the seats.

Police said the men seemed to have taken a high-degree of planning and care in the targeted robberies, leading them to believe they were part of an organized group.

Callers followed the man and led police to the Laundromat.

Officers saw that he had broken into the laundry and was apparently living there during off hours.

STOPPED BY THE AIR BAGS

An Eastie man who tried to dash a motor vehicle accident last Wednesday, March 18, at Butler Circle found himself apprehended when he could no longer navigate due to the deployed air bags in his car.

Police got a call for the accident around 4:40 a.m. and soon located the man on Revere Street – where front-end damage to the car and air bags in the driver’s way had grounded him.

Officers approached the car and believed that the man was sleeping.

However, he broke into action and began to become uncooperative and combative.

Officers found drug paraphernalia and drugs in the car and easily matched his car to the one that had caused the accident on Butler Circle.

Henry Yanes, 21, of East Boston, was charged with possession to distribute a Class D drug, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of property damage.
