NOT SO MERRY ON ENDICOTT

Neighbors on Endicott Avenue in Beachmont reported that Christmas morning brought a lot of blinking lights to the street, but not the kind that bring Yuletide cheer.

More like the kind that bring people to jail.

Neighbors reported that they had to call police early in the morning, near 3 a.m., to deal with a loud party that wouldn’t quit on the street.

As officers were dealing with that nonsense, neighbors said, a drunk driver from Winthrop blasted through the scene and nearly took everyone out.

People on the street, hoping to be tucked into their beds for a long winter’s nap, were instead awake outside and miffed.

Jonathan Testa, 24, of Winthrop, was arrested in the incident and charged with operating under the influence of liquor and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

SHOTS FIRED

Two responses for shots fired were reported over the past week.

On Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 8 a.m., officers were called to Kimball Avenue for a report of shots fired on the street. Officers did find evidence and a report was filed.

On Saturday, Dec. 27, officers were called to Foster Street for another shots fired report around 5 p.m. However, nothing was found at the scene to back up the call.
