Violet Sawyer

IRS Retiree

Violet A. (Carbone) Sawyer, a lifelong resident of Revere, died on October 23 at Blueberry Hill Healthcare of Beverly following a long confinement. She was 95 years old.

Born and raised in Revere, she lived in this city her entire life before going to Blueberry Hill in August of 2007. In 1980, she retired from the IRS Unit of Andover as a processor with more than 25 years of service. She was very devoted to her family and to her extended family.

She was the wife of the late Leo J. Sawyer who died in May of 1994 and the devoted mother of: Iris D. Hearing and her husband, William of Ridgefield, CT., Susan J. Sawyer of Lynnfield and Leo J. Sawyer of Swampscott; the sister of the late Robert “Kibby” Carbone, Eva C. Benedict, Eleanor “Lee” Gallante, Esther Hughes and Madeline Page. She is also lovingly survived by seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, Revere. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Mary Cecca

Lifelong East Boston Resident

Mary C. (Lindstrom) Cecca, a lifelong East Boston resident, died on October 25.

She was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin V. Cecca; devoted mother of Stephen B. and his wife, Diane of Winthrop, Paul V. and his wife, Sharon of Revere and Karen M. and her husband, Greg Capillo of West Peabody; daughter of the late Frederick and Dorothy (O’Dwyer) Lindstrom; sister of Dorothy Halpin of California, Patricia Ferraro of Billerica, Alice Cambria of East Boston, Catherine Lindstrom of California and the late Walter Lindstom. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and by many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral was held from the Magrath Funeral Home, East Boston on October 29. Interment was at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Center would be appreciated. MagrathFuneralHome.com

Rita Lonardo

Former Resident of Friendly Gardens

Rita R. Lonardo of Revere died on October 22.

Rita was a former resident of Friendly Gardens where she leaves behind many friends. She was also formerly employed in the packing department at Vatco.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Roberto and Lena (Reppucci); dear sister of the late Robert Lonardo “RFD” and his surviving wife, Theresa; cherished aunt of Diane Lonardo of Revere, Robert of New Hampshire and Donna Spallone and her husband, Leonard of Lynnfield. She is also survived by five grand nieces and grand nephews and many cousins.

Robert ‘Robbie’ Capozzi, Jr.

Taken Too Soon

Robert “Robbie” Capozzi Jr. of Swampscott passed peacefully and unexpectedly on October 22. He was 35 years old.

Robbie was taken too soon, but is at peace now in the loving arms of his grandparents. Robbie was loved more than the pen can express, loved always and very sadly missed.

He was the beloved son of Robert and Marion (Doyle) Capozzi of Swampscott; beloved brother of Christopher and Michael Capozzi of Swampscott; cherished grandson of the late Michael and Kathleen Doyle of Ireland and the late Frank and Lena Capozzi of Revere, formerly of Italy; dear nephew to Eugene Capozzi of Revere, Joseph and Stephanie Doyle of Florida, John and Sandra Doyle of England, Andy and Phillis Doyle, Danny Doyle and Anne and the late Michael Doyle of Ireland. He is also survived by many loving cousins including: Carla and Mark Capozzi and Lisa, Herb, June and Kathy Kelley, Deb and Kevin Hourihan, all formerly of Revere, and Hazel, Michael and Phillip Doyle, all of Ireland.

Rose Prag

Formerly of Chelsea and Revere

Rose (Kritchmar) Prag entered into rest on October 4. She was 91 years old.

An active member of many local organizations, Rose was a former resident of Chelsea and Revere.

She was the daughter of the late Morris and Gussie Kritchmar; beloved wife of the late Milton Prag; devoted mother of Inez and Joseph Cole of Revere, Faith Taylor and Richard Caprio of Saugus, Scott and Nancy Prag of Saugus and is also survived by her sister, Susan “Suki” Cohen and twin sister of the late Belle Pearlswig; Grammie” to grandchildren: Jason and Heather Cole, Pamela Cole and Jenny Prag; “Great-Ammie” to Elyssa and Halen Cole. Aunty Rose to her many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services took place at Chessed Shel Emeth Cemetery, Danvers. Memorial donations can be made to Epoch Senior Healthcare of Melrose, 15 Green St. Melrose, MA 02176 or to a charity of one’s choice.

Stanislawa Mroz

Of Peabody, Formerly of Chelsea

Stanislawa Mroz of Peabody, formerly of Chelsea, died on October 20. She was 83 years old.

Stanislawa came to the United States from Poland in 1961 settling in Chelsea where she raised her family. She was employed for many years at American Optical and was an active member of St Stanislaus Parish for many years.

The beloved wife of the late Jozef, she was the devoted mother of Joseph Mroz and his wife, Alina of Peabody and the late Theodore and Charles Mroz and is also survived by seven loving grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Clementina ‘Tina’ Borseti

Retiree of Stuart’s of Malden and Transitron

Clementina “Tina” (Affezionato) Borseti of Revere, a former long time resident of Everett, died on October 27 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital following a brief illness. She was 87 years old.

Mrs. Borsetti was born in Boston and spent most of her life in Everett before moving to her son’s Revere home a year ago. She worked for more than 20 years as an assembler for Transitron of East Boston and then began a career at Stuart’s of Malden as a clerk until her retirement in 1994.She was the wife of the late Joseph L. Borseti who died in June of 1999; the devoted mother of: Ronald A. Borseti and his wife, Teri of Franklin, Richard S. Borseti and his wife, Janet of Methuen, Lawrence J. Borseti and his wife, Kathleen of Marblehead, Thomas J. Borseti and his wife, Louise of Revere and Steven E. Borseti and his wife, Linda of Wilmington and the dear sister of Louis Lopardi of New York City. She is also lovingly survived by 10 grandchildren and one great grandson.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, November 2 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday following the visitation at 11:15 a.m. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Everett. Stella Raymon/aka Stella Miranda

Retired Production Worker

Stella V. Raymon, also known as Stella V. Miranda, died on October 21 at Courtyard Nursing Care Center of Medford following a brief illness. She was 88 years old.

Born and raised in Boston’s Old West End, she lived there before moving to Cambridge for more than 50 years and in 1993 to Somerville where she lived for the past 20 years. Stella was a production worker for Chantron Electronics for many years before retiring in 1987. She loved her home and family and was most content to entertain herself in simple ways.

She was the beloved mother of S. Theresa LeCroy and her husband, H. Morris of Monroe, Georgia and Michael F. “Mickey” Miranda and his wife, Doris of Malden; the cherished grandmother of Steven M. LeCroy and his wife, Penny of Pendergast, Georgia, Sharon L. Seling of Monroe, Georgia, Michael F. Miranda and his wife, Jennifer and Robin A. Marulli and her husband, Paul, both of Saugus and the late Kevin LeCroy. She is also lovingly survived by eight great grandchildren, her sister in law, Dorothy Raymon of Waltham and by many nieces and nephews. Stella was the last of 13 siblings and the dear sister of the late: Peter, Stanley, Walter, John and Joseph Raymon, Helen Imonti, Sophie DeOssie, Nelli Dupont, Jeannie Ciardi, Antoinette Martynik, Mary Denault and Blanche Raymon.

Edith Karas

Of Indiana, formerly of Chelsea

Edith (Cohen) Karas of West Lafayette, Indiana, formerly of Chelsea, died on Friday, October 25.

She was the beloved wife of the late Aaron Henry Karas; devoted mother of Dr. Barry Joel Karas and wife, Iris of West Lafayette, Indiana; loving daughter of the late Hyman and Dora Cohen; dear sister of the late Henry Cohen and loving grandmother of Adam B. Karas and Lauren A. Karas.

Services will be held at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave, Cary Sq. Chelsea on Monday, November 4 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Linas Hatzedek Cemetery, 232 Fuller Street, Everett.
