The Skylarks, coached by manager Mike Polsonetti, defeated the Eagles in two straight games to capture the Revere Girls Softball League championship at Hill Park.
Sophia Holmes and Logan DiCarlo were the winning pitchers for the Skylarks who won by scores of 12-2 and 8-5 in the best-of-three finals.
Tanya Stasio was the batting star for the Skylarks while Holmes and DiCarlo also had strong offensive performances in the playoffs. Stasio had nine hits, including four doubles, and seven RBIs in the semifinal and final series.
Meghan Palermo, Regina DeSimone, Alexis DiPlatzi, Victoria DiPlatzi, and Rachel DeSantis also contributing timely hitting and good fielding to the Skylarks’ victory.
Brittany Lento was the recipient of the Vanessa Ardagna Memorial Award for her outstanding playing ability, team leadership, and sportsmanship throughout her career. Lento was superb at the plate and in her position as the Skylarks’ catcher.
For manager Mike Polsonetti, it was his fourth consecutive championship at the helm of the Skylarks.
The playoff finalist Eagles were ably directed by manager Jerry Zullo.
