Agnes Murphy

Office Manager for DiStasio Dental Associates of Revere

Agnes M. (Dillon) Murphy, formerly of Revere, died on June 24 at the Colonial Poplin Nursing Home in Fremont, NH. She was in her 90th year.

Born in Chelsea, she was raised and educated in Revere and was a 1939 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School of Revere. She was a Registered Dental Assistant and a graduate of Forsythe Dental School in Boston. For more than 30 years, until her retirement in 1986, she managed her brother in law’s dental practice on Foster Street, Revere (DiStasio Family Dental Practice.) There she met and cared for over thousands of patients during her career.

Mrs. Murphy leaves her devoted husband of 64 years, James J. Murphy of Fremont, NH. Mr. Murphy was the proprietor and operator of Murphy Insurance Co. of Beach Street, Revere for more than 40 years.

Although the couple was never blessed with their own biological children, all of their nieces and nephews became theirs and their generosity is legendary. They traveled often and often took their nieces and nephews on unusual and wonderful vacations.

Mrs. Murphy was a member of the Revere Women’s Club and was a devotee of the former St. Theresa’s Church and the Immaculate Conception Parish Community.

The beloved and adored wife of 64 years to James J. Murphy, she was the devoted daughter of the late Dennis and Agnes (Stevens) Dillon and cherished sister of the late Francis J. Dillon, Elinor D. Hickey and Marion R. DiStasio. She is also lovingly survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit with the family today, Wednesday, June 29 beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt. 107) Revere followed by her funeral service in the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Elisa (DiCesare) Colasante of Revere died on June 28.

The beloved wife of the late Angelo Colasante, she was the loving mother of Tina Lavilotti and her husband, Aldo, and Paola Colasante, all of Revere; dear sister of the late Elide Barberini; cherished grandmother  of Lisa Fiorino and her husband, Patrick J., of Randolph and Angela Munson and her husband, Jeff, of Tewksbury. She is also survived by four loving great-grandchildren, Michael, Adriana, Alessandra and Gabriella.

Retired seamstress

Eugenia (Capano) Russo of Revere died on June 28 at the Light House Nursing Home. She was 89 years old.

A retired seamstress, she was born in Italy, the daughter of the late Luigi and Rosaria Capano; beloved wife of the late Dominic “Lt RFD”; devoted mother of Donna Russo of Lynn, Dennis of Revere and Brian of S. Carolina; dear sister of Anthony Capano of Revere and the late Albert Capano and Connie Pantano; loving grandmother of Jonathan, Nicholas and Haley Russo and special aunt of Diane Haas and her husband, Warren, of Middleton. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere on Friday July 1 at 8 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St Anthony’s Church at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Robert Cutillo Jr.

Owned Suburban Auto of Revere

Robert J.  Cutillo Jr. of Revere died at Salem Hospital following a long illness on June 26. He was 76 years old.

Born and raised in Revere, he was a 1953 graduate of Revere High School. He entered the service during the Korean Conflict and served for three years. In 1969, he opened Suburban Auto of Revere on Foster Street and retired in 1993. He was a former member of the Revere Council, Knights of Columbus.

He was the beloved husband of 49 years of Corrine (Macaris) Cutillo; the devoted father of Michael A. Cutillo and his wife, Tracy, of Nahant; the cherished grandfather of Makenzie L. and Lydia E. Cutillo, both of Nahant; the dear brother of Louis Cutillo of Vero Beach, Florida, Florence E. Cantone, Lorraine C. Malinowski and Janet M. Stuppia, all of Revere and the late Frank R. Cutillo. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

Donna M. Amoroso of Revere died on June 25.

Mary (Maduri) Pucillo of Everett, formerly of Boston’s North End, died on June 26.

She was the beloved mother of Richard Pucillo of Revere and his late wife Joanne Pucillo; loving grandmother to three grandchildren and loving great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren; dear sister of Sam Maduri of New Hampshire, Catherine Pagliuca of the North End, Teresa Rizzari of the West End, the late Joseph Maduri and Helen Regnetta; devoted daughter of the late Panteleone and Rosaria (Visconi) Maduri and is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.

Edward Cartwright Jr.

Senior Technician for IBM

Edward F. Cartwright, Jr., of Derry, NH, formerly of Revere and North Reading, died unexpectedly on June 25 at Catholic Medical Center of Manchester, NH. He was 68 years old.

Born and raised in Medford and North Reading, he graduated from North Reading High School, Class of 1961 and from Northeastern University in 1963. He entered the US Airforce in August of 1963 and served until August of 1967 as an Airman 1st Class with the 762nd Radar Squadron. For more than 30 years, he worked for IBM Corp. as a Senior Technician, retiring in 2001.

He was a Revere resident for more than 37 years until seven years ago when he and his family moved to Derry, NH.

He was the devoted husband of Mary D. (Corbett); cherished father of Michael E. Cartwright and his wife, Mary, of North Reading, David F. Cartwright and his wife, Lisa, of Plaistow, NH and Ronald P. Cartwright and his wife, Alicia, of Derry, NH; dear brother of Theodore Cartwright and his wife, Kathy, of Reading; cherished grandfather of Alyssa, Mary-Casey, Andrew, Ronald, Alex, Robbie and Matthew. He is also lovingly survived by his nephew, Trevor Cartwright of Reading, several other nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers in law.

Israel Fishman of Stoughton, formerly of Chelsea, died on June 27. He was 92 years old.

The beloved husband of Lillian (Goren) Fishman, he was the devoted father of Sumner Fishman and his wife, Deanna Chiampa, of Millis, Eileen Landy and her husband, Merric, Sharon Deanaher of Revere and Paul Fishman and his wife, Marcia, of Raynham; loving brother of Ida Gordon of Chelsea; cherished grandfather and great grandfather of many.

Karen Ann (Sangermano) Kelble of Saugus, formerly of East Boston, died on June 26.

She was a graduate of Pope John High School, Class of 1983, and Newbury College and was employed at Citizen Bank Boston.

The beloved wife of James J. Kelble Sr., with whom she shared 31 years of marriage, she was the loving mother of Andrea F., Christopher J. and James J. Kelble, Jr., all at home; cherished daughter of Anna (Milo) Sangermano of Saugus and the late George Sangermano; daughter in law of James and Barbara (Cutlip) Kelble of New Hampshire.

Nicholas Ferrala Sr.

Retired auto mechanic

Nicholas  F.”Nick” Ferrala, Sr. died peacefully surrounded by his family on June 26 at his home in Bangor, Maine after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was 81 years old.

Born in Charlestown, he spent most of his life in Revere and his later years were spent with his family in Bangor, Maine.  He was an auto mechanic who loved tinkering with things.

Surviving in addition to Frances, his devoted wife of 52 years, are three children, Nick, Jr., Mike, and Karen Carson and her husband, James; six grandchildren, Anthony, Gracie, Sophia, Abigail, Rebecca and Fletcher; one great grandson, Kamryn; two brothers, Anthony and his wife, Patricia Ferrala, and Tommy Farrella;  three sisters, Louise Champa, Junie and Janie and many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis (DeBonis) Fagone, formerly of East Boston, died peacefully in Stoughton on June 16.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Fagone; daughter of the late Giovannina (Carina) and Josef DeBonis; mother of Joseph Fagone Jr. and his wife, Debby, of Pepperell, Charles Fagone and Frank Fagone and his wife, Barbara, all of Revere, the late Annette Manetta and Joann Linker; sister of George DeBonis and mother-in-law of Robert Manetta. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robert, Carla, Joanna, Michelle, Chuckie, Kara, Lesley, Joseph, Jason, Shannon, Joy, Felicia, Ashley and Romina and 13 great-grandchildren.

Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Leo and Mary Filippone, she was a former sales clerk at Sears and also worked at Wonderland Dog Track

Kathleen A. Adams of Revere, formerly of Charlestown and Chelsea, died on May 24.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Earl and Christine (Harower) Adams; sister of Marion Hart of Medford, formerly of Charlestown, and the late Beatrice McNelley, Irene Ricupero and James and Charles Adams. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Burial was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Roxbury.

Carmen J. Reppucci of Melrose, formerly of Revere, died on June 22 following a long illness. He was 65 years old.

He was the beloved husband of 38 years to Peggy Ann (Robbins); devoted brother of James C. Reppucci and his wife, Diana G., of Melrose; cherished uncle of Ronald J. Reppucci and wife, Diane P., of Eliot, ME, Younger Robbins of California and Giselle Surette of Florida; dear nephew of Frances “Chica” Crisafulli of Everett, Jeanette Crisafi, and Joanne Reppucci, both of Revere; dear granduncle of Lydia J., Nathaniel J., and Gregory J. John Deeb Shire

John Deeb Shire died on June 23 in East Boston following a valiant battle with metastatic carcinoma. He was 82 years old.

A US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of VFW Post 6712 of Beachmont, he was the former proprietor of the “Hair Company” and “John Mitchell Croppers” of Cambridge.

He was the beloved husband of the late Theresa S. (Scoppettuolo); devoted father of JoAnne Vitale and her husband, CFO Henry Vitale, BWRA of Jamaica Plain, Cynthia Woolcock and her husband, John, of East Boston, Stacy J. Ragucci and her husband, Vincent, of North Reading, John Shire and his wife, Rhonda, of Revere; the cherished grandfather of seven and is also lovingly survived by his companion, Carolyn Medugno of Danvers, and many nieces and nephews.

John J. McCorry, Sr. of Peabody died on June 20.

 

A US Army veteran of World War II and a former member of Revere VFW, he was the husband of Teresa (DeOrio) McCorry of Peabody; father of Carol and William Anastos of Revere, John McCorry of Peabody, and Bruce McCorry and Sandra LaRosa of Middleton, and the late Gary McCorry; grandfather of five, Gina and Bob Noftle, Tania and Alex Case and Alisha Anastos, all of Revere, Erica McCorry of Woburn and Tiffany McCorry of Wakefield and also leaves four great-grandchildren. Veronica H. (Pastore) O’Brien of Everett died on June 19.

 

She was 85 years old.

 

She was the beloved wife of the late William H. O’Brien; loving mother of Gail Shanley and her husband, Paul, William O’Brien, Richard O’Brien, all of Everett, Kevin O’Brien and his partner, Richard Eldridge, of Revere, and the late Karen Morse, Sandra Sullivan, and Michael O’Brien. She is also survived by 10 cherished grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was the grandmother of one late cherished grandchild.

He was the devoted father of Colette Pomerleau and her husband, Brian, of Brockton; loving brother of Gloria Rosen; cherished grandfather of David, Brian and Brianna; uncle of Amber and Brittany Rosen.
