Revere Beach National Sandsculpting Festival 2010

The Revere Beach National Sandsculpting Festival kicked off on Revere Beach Monday. Sculptors from around the country will converge on Revere Beach the rest of this week and all weekend. The annual event brings in nearly 500,000 people throughout the week. These photos are from Tuesday morning when sculptors and organizers were working on the Demonstration Site – with the theme of Repunzel Letting Down  Her Hair. The individual professional competition will begin Wednesday and continue every day until 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Awards will be given out at 8 p.m. Saturday, with fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

It’s once again time for Revere’s signature event of the year!
